This is the options I have here! Multiwii, KK2, and apm. The most suitable i think is the KK2, hole spacings on this frame are 45mm, the multiwii board is 45. between holes, the KK2 is 44mm between holes but the mounting holes can be filed out towards to corner 0.5mm to form a small slot.

Ben asked last night what I used for a distribution board, I cut off a strip of single sided pcb, cut dividers in the copper with a stanley knife, the board was drilled at tapped each end and two short M3 screws hold it in place, trying to keep the center spacing clear for fitting a mobious! Mobious is about 3mm too thick for this space, will make up new spacers later.

I might go that route later! The plan is to keep the space between the plates completely clear!
Just fitted my spare KK2 and it's not responding! Got it from hk months ago, never tried it, too late to complain about it now!
I got one on the h quad I can try!

made some more progress, this is turning out a cleaner build than the qav, the wire coming out the front is for the fpv gear power. quick mock up on middle picture to show the layout, (subject to change) still need to wire fpv gear up and add blue tooth module for naze

The h quad configuration is certainly easier to add fpv gear

is that the spanky ben? looks nice. will be cleaner as you'll have no osd on there and if your flying 3s no 12v voltage regulator so will be nice and simple

some more pics show the new alloy legs, they are 30mm long so now clears the battery and stands nice and level, also much stronger than the plastic legs! KK2 fitted, will fit a working KK2 in it today

If you check the threads on those plastic fixings, the female thread in the hex spacers are correct size M3, but the male threads are undersize (about 2.67mm when it should be more like 2.97mm) so they are weaker than they need be!
Legs were 6mm dia alloy rod from B&Q, drilled and tapped M3, M3 studding made from the shank of 3mm bright round nails (also from B&Q)

Took the KK2 off my big h-quad, reinstalled the 1.6 firmware just to prove my programming setup and everything went fine, so need to look at the duff unused KK2.
Set up the mini-Quad and it flew perfect first flight, throttle sensible now, First flight exploring indoors, that's how stable it was! This is using the kk2 ver 1.6 defaults...

It appears to be drawing 3A on hover, 17a held down at full throttle...
