I built one of those for my mate it flys pretty well but its not quite square its wider than its long does not make much difference I spaced plates out using only 2 holes for each leg and used spanky anti vibes mounts , works well considering he is using cheap props, ill try n find pics on my phone

Yes I see what you mean! Could make new bottom plates and stagger the legs more!
I'm am a bit surprised that the frame is quite rigid.

I'm low on spare motors now so can't see it being fitted out for a while.

I decided to push on and build this little quad for 4S!

Biggest problem was how to achieved a reasonably clean build! The gap between the two lower plates that clamp the arms is not only too narrow, but long enough to accept two esc's per side either. Finally decided on ESC's half inboard, half on the arms!

Ther PDB is on top of the upper plate, think it turned out quite neat under the circumstances!

Motor leads were soldered direct to the ESC's, gap between motor and ESC 50mm
Tied a know in the motor wires to make it easier to adjust length

To get access to the PDB mounting screws, opened out the lower plate holes to 6mm to clear the screw heads

yeah these frames are tight as hell for space down the bottom. Since I just tore mine down I had a bag full of prop centres for the twinstar all different sizes I sourced 16 that fit snug over the bolts and used them for spacers on the arms since the bolts are long enough. gave me an extra 5-6mm between the bottom plates and saves me grinding the thread of the bolts on gravel landings. The bolts sit flush with the end of the nuts now :)

Yes must admit it is a pretty tight build (hard to make a clean installation!)

This the frame complete less top deck. Weight of what you can see is 339 grams

1300mAh 4S nanotech and top plate appx 160 grams ( Mobious and vtx to account for)

Gav, Yes 4S, but will test on 3S/4S with 5X3 and 6X3 props.

why the knots in the esc/motor wire?

Probably cos the DYS motor wires are super long. I just cut and soldered them directly to the esc's on mine.

The knots were to save a bit of wire length! If I later fit these motors on another frame there should be enough wire with the knots undone, to move the ESC's inboard.

Only hover testing due to high winds and rain. Tested on 3S and 4S using 5X3 props.

Using similar config to Spanky, this one is behaving totally different, major high speed wobbling in horizon and in acro, so need some lengthy testing I think!

First problem arises from the short distance of the front to rear motors, obvious main effect is that it makes fore/aft balancing much more critical. I will continue testing this frame although already redesigning the bottom plates to get more spacing!
