With the 1300mAh battery shown in the pics, 548 grams! Hoping to reduce it to around the 500, probably a hard target to reach although there is quite a bit of irrelevant GRP that can be pared off

looking very nice there BM, you could start off by chipping off the gopro shelf seeing as your on CCD & mobius, got to be a few grams there!

Ben, Would you happen to know the weight of the bare lower panel on the spanky (the thick one with the arms) forgot to measure it myself!

Can also reduce the motor mount discs from 30 to 24~25mm

I have a suspicion that the 4 anti-vibe spacers don't actually do much either (they feel quite rigid)

Spanky needed high pids on the multiWii, getting closer!

Tried the RCX hex with 2200mAh battery, easy to fly, battery lasted ages, weighed it when I got home, 550 grams!
It handled so light and well that I might cut a H style hex frame, it'll be a bit longer than the spanky but no wider...

btw put it down in an area of gorse and took an hour to find it, think it's time to stick a lost alarm on these!

Needed to make a replacement leg for the RCX Hex, took appx 20mins to draw out, 10mins to set up and cut.

I used glass fiber sheet 1.6mm thick, I cut it to original size (bear in mind the original was supposed to be 1.6mm CF)  will see if its just as durable!

some green g10 fiberglass sheet laid on top of spanky frame (which is black 1.6mm g10 sheet)

jagged tapered bit is covered using a permanent marker pen
Square bit has been sprayed with matt black paint from Lidl

Photographed it at various angles to the sun to show the effect/difference!

sprayed had the more perfect finish, permanent marker was a nearer matching black although showed streaks typical of a marker pen. The spray paint is particularly durable, will do some further tests to get a better match with paint I think!
