FPV Related 3D Prints
« on: December 15, 2014, 05:28:14 PM »
Post your FPV related 3d print photos here, perhaps along with a STL file or link so others can print there own too.

If you fancy some extra information would be helpful too, perhaps the printer, the settings used for the print and material (PLA/ABS) along with the print time!

Here is my thingiverse post on this: (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:584536)
you can download the STLs there.

However I though I would post it here to let you guys see it as well. It is a fpv tilt frame for :
http://www.banggood.com/600TVL-Pinhole-CCTV-Mini-Camera-for-Security-Surveillance-FPV-p-926406.html
that camera. Basically in to photo the orange parabolic shape would be a servo arm coming from a 180 degree servo. The silver piece represents a paper clip and the rest are the actual printed parts. After plugging the servo into the flightboard (or reciever, unsure yet) when you turn one aux dial on the remote the paperclip would be pushed or pulled and pan the fpv camera up or down.
Also, the camera has tv out connectors so I just cut them off(past the big thing) and soldered them to a connector for my vTx. The camera is apparently 5MP and 600 TVL which is pretty good, however I have not tested it out yet to confirm its quality.  You can just glue to case parts together and screw the case to the base w/ an M3 18mm screw and lock nut. I designed this for my 3D printed MHQ2 (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:511668) so that is what the mount is designed for however you can use it with any if you modify the bottom or just drill new holes in it after printing. I hope this works for someone, and if you think you can adapt based on your quad/ or make a better version please do.
Print settings(mm):
Layer height: .25
Bottom and Top Layer Height: .25
Print Speed: 60mm/s
Travel Speed: 90mm/s
Temp: 210 C
Nozzle Size: .4
Infill: 80%
Bottom Layer Speed: 20mm/s
Outer Shell Speed: 30mm/s
Inner Shell Speed: 30mm/s
Print Bed: Covering in a layer of glue stick (easy to wash off afterwards)
Even with these settings this should be a very fast print, probably under 30 min. I am printing this right now along with some battery clips I did not design but just modified and will update with the results.
Note: These settings are for low resolution prints to turn out at a high quality. These are not the only settings you can use for this print, I'm sure many other will work fine as well, but these settings are reliable for medium/low time+low resolution prints.

I could do with something like that to fit on a mini quad and hold a standard 600tvl size board cam

I have winter break in a week, if you give me the dimensions and post a picture+link of the camera I would be happy to try to design it. Also, I forgot to add, I plan to use http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CCZ2CRA/ref=pe_385040_127745480_TE_item
one of those servos for it.

good luck! should be pretty straight forward, I would reccomend using a program such as sketchup or 123D create or tinkercad which is suuuuupppperrrr simple but very good for projects like this.

I printed out a LED bumper, its designed for a ZMR250 frame and the hole spacing was too close together for my spanky so I took some measurements and stretched it over the width axis in Mattercontrol. A bit of a rough way of doing it but quickest way for me as I havent starting dabbling in 3d design yet.

I shortened the back standoffs by about 3mm so this could be fitted above the bottom plate otherwise the silicone bobbins would in foul the led bumper. Once fitted the props do touch it by about 1mm each side so time to get the dremel on it now. Maybe next time I can design my own!

these are 10 times brighter than the previous blue LEDs Dave, and they are pointing the right direction too so should be easier to see me.

Looks good to me! I was thinking about trimming the length but curving them like that looks better!

***forgot to add the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yDfRrsH0WM&list=WL&index=8
I am currently working on making this simple diversity receiver that uses two receivers instead of two antennas. While that may sound lame the components would cost under $5 total in an electronics store and cost me about $12 online. I'm using 123D circuits to design a PCB board for it and afterwards am going to design a 3D printable case of the board+2 receivers. I may try to make a stackable function, because if you built three of these you could use 4 vRx at the same time, and the method for connecting them would be less than $20 most likely. If you have multiple receivers already this is a nice option compared to buying a diversity receiver for way more $$$ and with 4 vRx and 4 helical antennas your FPV would be OP! Well I'm broke and won't be buying 2 or 3 more vRx and 4 quality helicals any time soon but I hope if anyones interested they'll try out the full potential of this DIY system. Once I finish designing it all today or tomorrow I'll post a thingiverse with the info and links to the custom PCB board etc.
