1.2Ghz video recomendations
«
on:
August 08, 2014, 12:37:17 PM »
Hi guys I'm new here and was wondering if you people Could point me in the right direction regarding 1.2Ghz video.
I very much would like to keep my orders within the uk if at all possible and something that will pair up well with the EzUhf system. I have had a look around on ebay and the likes and there doesn't seem to be much if anything available at least for use with FPV. Video tx for the most parts are big bulky and no doubt heavy.
An help would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT Oh dear, In the last few mins I discovered 1.2ghz Is Illegal here in the uk which is no doubt why I cant find it here. hmmmm Although not criminal minded I really well don't have much problem using it as I probably brake the law x5 everyday with much more serious consequences, I.e speeding ect. Guess Ill have to order overseas after all
Cheers
Gav

There is this on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FPV-Ground-Station-for-Aerial-Video-Photography-7-15-pilot-screens-1-2ghz-/111426606591?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19f18b15ff depends how much use the stuff has had I'd message him don't no the user you may or may not be buying somebody else's nightmares
I'd buy following from drone vision
1.2 lawmate 500mw video tx , I'd prolly get 2 save postage if you damage one
1.2 lawmate video reciever
To increase range you could get a 8db patch antenna , however if setup properly you can go 5km on whips
You also want a couple of 3a turnigy becs with noise reduction , in stock at hobbyking uk, powering your vtx in the craft with this will make things much Easyer for you as you will be very unlikely to get motor noise through video
The lawmate stuff is not expensive and depending on what delivery option I've had stuff in 4 days from drone vision

Yes that's right, all 1.2 & 1.3 stuff will only be available from outside the uk (and ebay)
They are not heavy, actually very light!
Main thing is to make sure when buying, or adding to existing gear, is that the receiving gear shares the same frequencies (channels) as the transmitting gear!
Just for the record, regarding legal frequencies in the uk, only 2.4g at 10mW max, and 5.8g at 25mW max, (certain selected frequencies) are legal video air to ground.
UHF r/c band ground to air only 459mHz at 100mW max
There is another uk frequency but only allowed in intermittent bursts so no use to us!

Thanks again guys!
Yes I did see that ground station to be honest, I think ill give it a miss as I could probably piece together something like that using new parts for that sort of money.
Yes xxpitt did recommend drone vision and the lawmate stuff. I will be going down this route then For sure, and great to hear That delivery might not take a month.. How long on average does hobbyking stuff arrive? I'm pretty sure I will need to grab a few small parts from there in the future.
Cheers guys!! Oh may not be worth making another thread so ill ask here, Any cheap 10-12 inch 12v screens You good people could recommend that don't bluescreen? I would also be interested in mini dvr recorder at some point. I have also heard of these bluscreening or cutting out at the slightest loss of signal?
I'm nearly there guys
This place has helped me so much!

Personally I would stay away from the lawmate 500mw as its 5v and its just extra hassel. Get the 1w 12v one or the racewood ones. Red one is best to match with lawmate vrx. Just makes life easier when it comes to building when your cam and vtx are both 12v

I see xxpitts point and he is not wrong but my reasons for using 500 and reasons not to are these
against
lm 500 in crash can be damaged by resister coming free from side of case and producing washed out picture
lm 500 needs tunigy bec and this takes away from its weight advantage
for
very light
very small
having the turnigy bec deletes the need in most cases for an lc filter to clean up video in 1 battery instalations (lc filter same weight as bec)
as long as you don't want 1200mhz + channel range channels all match
cheap
--------
lawmate 1w tx are great but there prolly too much power for someone that wishes to stay within 8km range ive been 8km on 500mw
rest of it for me is down to price if the racewood were as cheap id consider them more , 1w lm are a lot more dronevision often have 500 on offer and you can get almost 3 for price of one 1w
but at end of the day we all stick to what works for us

I did and still do wonder what the red/yellow/blue was about??
I would go with the 1w lawmate vtx but I'm sure when I checked It was out of stock. the one with the two square heat sinks right? I could be wrong!! I'm still getting used to what's what.
Nearly there guys

The colours is just difent frequencies. Each one only has 4 channels. Not all are compatible with lawmate. Only the red one has all for channels compatible. Sone colours only have 1 or 2 and thers one that has 0. Red is best bet. If not yellow 2nd choice. And best sticking with lawmate vrx as it has more channels for any future vtx's you might buy. Like I said theres another brand ben has can't remember the name but its 12v and does all the lawmate channels I think.

I would agree with Martin, I use the hobbyking version LM 500mW. Found it very good!, light (and cheap)
http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__25326__LawMate_TM120500_1_2GHz_500mW_6Ch_Wireless_A_V_Transmitter_Module.html?strSearch=lawmate
Sunsky vTx is also a good one, I have a couple of these and they work well too! Their vTx's are good but their vRx's are El crappo
Not a fanatic of high power (ie 1w & plus) can cause more problems than benefits...
Also have a couple LM vRx's from HK. seem to work fine...

Yep nothing wrong with the 500mw lawmate have one myself on my qav. Just prefer having everything running off 12v just makes things simpler, especially when running a 3s lipo

yeah the RMRC 400mw 1.2 has a good selection of channels throughout the whole range which are compatible with the lawmate receiver, I have had 2 of the drones vision ones die on me recently it could be due to crash damage I guess, plus other users have ordered a certain colour label and got a different one which can be confusing, also with the limited number of compatible channels I have gone off them now tbh. I have 2 more rmrc 1.2 400mw on the way to me
they have a handy push button to change channels rather than dipswitches so its easy to cycle though channels. They do come with a heavy green metal heatsink though so best to remove it if you want to lighten it up (20g with no antenna)

Great stuff guys, good to hear all the opinions its painting a nice picture!
So for the record this Vrx (If that's the right abbreviation) is going to be a safe bet.
http://www.dronesvision.net/en/wireless-av/22-lawmate-12ghz-wireless-av-receiver-vrx-for-fpv-wireless-cctv-cameras.html
Can I swap out the antenna if that's even necessary?
Either this Vtx
http://www.dronesvision.net/en/wireless-av/61-racewood-12ghz-500mw-wireless-av-transmitter-red-label.html
Is that 12v or 5v?
Or http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__25326__LawMate_TM120500_1_2GHz_500mW_6Ch_Wireless_A_V_Transmitter_Module.html?strSearch=lawmate
Or the 1000mw version.
http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__25327__LawMate_TM121800_1_2GHz_1000mW_8Ch_Wireless_A_V_Transmitter_Module.html
Though I cant seem to find either of these In the Uk warehouse probably obviously. And there also out of stock In the HK International warehouse. Unless I'm missing something...There's certainly no Add to cart option.
Could someone link me to the Ready made Rc 400w MrBen mentioned or similar? The ones I see to find are all 1.3Ghz
Cheers!
Gav
EDIT.. I did manage to find this. http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=165_75&products_id=446
Is that ok?
