Or you could get the sunsky 400mW (same tx?)
http://www.sunsky-online.com/view/13085/1.2GHz+400mW+8+Channel+Digital+Wireless+AV+transmitter+%26+receiver.htm

It has the same channels, minus the 1258gHz
1.08GHZ/1.12GHZ/1.16GHZ/1.2GHZ/1.24GHZ/1.28GHZ/1.32GHZ/1.36GHZ

$60. What you do is keep the vTx and throw away the vRx

See the pics, is it the same as yours Ben?
I see the sunsky site offer:
Quote
OEM are Welcome! we can print customer's artwork and company logo

I guess they are the same and that extra channel is programmable either by resistors or firmware...

Yes its seemingly increasing difficult to find most of the Tx's recommended  In stock. just my luck

If this tx that BigMouse suggested turns out to be the same Tx as the RMRC one or equivalent then that would be nice

 http://www.sunsky-online.com/view/13085/1.2GHz+400mW+8+Channel+Digital+Wireless+AV+transmitter+%26+receiver.htm

So I'm taking it that the Rx is rubbish?

And I guess If all else fails I could get the Racewood 500mw one. Shame there isn't a 1000mw version or I have overlooked it..

Yes the digital sunsky vRx is rubbish!
The Lawmate vRx from HK or where ever can pick up 6 of the sunsky's channels

1W output might work ok, but might reduce your r/c range, lots of strange things can happen with rf units all working in close proximity.
Don't forget that at 1.2g  400mW on dipoles should reach 8km, using the same criteria 1W would reach 12~13 ie only about 50% further

Well at the moment I'm an absolute FPV noob so a 8km range seems incredible for me at this stage!

500mw seems to fit the bill just nice. Out of interest Will I need those turnigy bec thingy's for all and any 500mw Vtx?

One again Please Excuse my lack of understanding. I'm trying to not miss anything.

yes you would need a turnigy 3amp low noise 5v ubec, assuming you are running 3s you can run your 12v camera off the 3s lipo main flight lipo however if you are running 4s-6s lipo then you would also need a 12v reg, I just ordered one of these to try ...

Oh right well this will depend on what's the Max lipo in cells and mah A twinstar 2 will carry for Max flight time without it being ridiculously heavy. This is something I'm still not sure of to be honest. But I think I understand mate.

Cheers!

Right then for a few reasons like availability and 12v Ill go with the Racewood 500mw red. Jobs a good un!

So This leaves me With just some sort of screen (Cant afford goggles) I have a couple 15" 12v Pc monitors at home. I was thinking of Using one of these In a nice aluminium case like many others. But I'm not sure If they will blue screen or not?

Any recommendations Regarding Screens. Bigger the better Quite obviously but ill consider anything over 10 inch If it does the job.

Thanks again pilots!
