kvosd / mwosd Perfect Companion for naze32
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:15:14 PM »
used a cheapo hobbyking osd at first but for the price of them got a minim osd off ebay and flashed kvosd for spanky , its perfect addon realy for naze users same weight as mini hobbyking osd 7g and you don't need Bluetooth module to change setting and tune pids , depending on what receiver yo have you might need to do a little soldering but for ezuhf users its pretty simple f yo just want voltage and rssi you can pass it all from flight controller with no extra wires

for rssi
set your channels for ppm muxed in irc tools and add link quality as channel 8
and then RSSI_AUX_CHANNEL = 4 in cli on naze and calibrate as in video below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5u4zDxq-wk

realy good video to follow on this here on yt covers the rest of setup

Thanks for the info!
What soft did you use to create that sketch?

Good idea but wouldn't use it on a mini, trying to pare as much weight as possible...

arduino sdk kv sketch was created by kvteam

the osd is very small same weight as hobbyking I used to use for just voltage check , it actualy saves a few grams if you loose bt module

no point in gps and all the other stuff its supports though

Martin are you running 12v through the minim osd then?

No don't just power it from 5v side and just run video signal through and no 12v , can't be sure what version our boards are and the voltage reg might get hot n pop

What people refer to as 5v mod is already done , when you power from 5v side you should get light on both sides of board

I've got a minim osd on my naze too and inject my RSSI through my PPM on my openlrsng so I get RSSI all the way from rx to naze to osd in one wire. I would recommend getting a minim from witespy as it's pre modded for kv osd firmware and generally cheaper than chinese clones anyway. Also look into multiwii osd firmware it works with baseflight and minim and appears to be slightly better. I'm flashing it tonight

I did flash it and it does look better , some options re not working properly , in the osd config itself the gui config seems to work mostly , gunna test it on one of my spankys , but so far setting up voltages seems abit more flaky but im sure it will work sweet with a little more messing

cant seem to get virtual current sensor to work either , shame

Did you uncomment the line in arduino before flashing? Think it's in config.h can't remember for sure. Just search for the text baseflight to find it. Also if you look on google code under issues there's a comment about voltages being a little off and an edit to make to the code to fix it.

I think I saw reference to it on the lab but then spent ages searching and found very little info and figured the arduino stuff out myself. I've got everything ready to go now just need to fly!
