yeah they should do a cheaper version without the p&t mech and dome, just a foam nose like rvjet does, could be $10-$15 cheaper

I was umming and arring for ages before buying it... I don't like the idea of an easily scratched dome, nor even the idea of a front mounted dome at all for fear of damaging it at the first failed launch (which happens a lot to me as we all know). But for the price, £76 delivered, I thought why not take a chance. I won't be putting a HD camera in the dome, it will just be a board cam (most likely the PZ0420) or the ben's pixim if I can find a way to mount it.

I still have the Skywalker for HD footage gathering, This will be as light as possible for my longer range attempts especially now I'm on 1.2 for video and EzUHF for control.

4 months till I get to play with it (probably longer as the wife wants to go on holiday), so no doubt there'll be plenty of flying examples around to help me get ideas for the build.

With the dome off it would be terrible amount of drag, the more I think of it the more this plane seems useless.

lets not confuse the dome with a lense, it may have reflections etc but I doubt it will actually distort the image
