would work fine if the quality of the dome was better

I agree, its HK quality were talking about here, and we all know what that is like. Chris is going to be over the moon with this.

Security cameras have domes and their image is fine though so must just not be a very clean curve on the dome or something

that image distortion is appalling, however, this thing cost £76 delivered... I'm not expecting a military grade missile pod with a ground all glass dome.

again, back to the capturing of HD images... crap, useless. but for using a regular fpv cam, I can't see it bothering me that much. after all, at least the OSD will be clear :)

I refuse to make further judgement myself until I see the quality of it first hand, but I welcome the opinions of those who've bought one... I hope to learn from any tips on the build or problems you may come across, and how the dome actually does affect the image on a proper fpv flight.

Ohhhh that sucks ass, to be honest though its no shocker as its been proven over the years on many other model rc planes that putting a cam inside a plastic dome is useless. This model was made to look good and that's it.

Even on real aircraft like Seaking and Chinook had these type of windows fitted and they were bad too with distortion and glare.

Time will tell when people start to fly these things. Yes FPV video is fun but to most people they want the best image they can get and will go to all sorts of lengths to achieve this.

I know it defeats the whole point of the thing, but if it was too bad to live with you could always just stick cam ontop like a normal plane

might end up with a mobius on there... will see how satisfied I am with the fpv cam ground recording first

I read you need to get the camera lense within a few mm of the dome and make a black felt shroud

Someone on RCG UK thread did their maiden yesterday :
