so what's the advantages of having a V tail rather than a standard X config for the motors?
my first thoughts are that because the thrust from the rear 2 motors is not "straight down", that you'd get less lift from the rear end. This can be remedied via custom mixing of course... tad more power to the rear motors.
but then because they are angled, then yaw must be much quicker than standard quads that rely on the torque twist to yaw the craft.
that sound about right?

Yup its all about the yaw, with the wide spacing of the front motors it should make it quite stable and smooth flying too, its all experimental at the moment. Maiden later so will see how she flies. FPV gear now added and lego removed

Today I tried the gopro on it outside the house to check for jello and it seems ok (click on 720p)
First test for jello on V-Tail with Gopro3

First proper FPV flight went well until I flicked on self level mid flight would have been OK if I remembered to calibrate gyros after updating the firmware to 1.6
