Saw it on the HK site.  Looks very pretty indeed and the yaw mechanism looks to be fine too. Not sure I like the idea of cowled in motors, re cooling, but it looks nice enough.

The biggest issue I have on my tri when flying LOS is orientation...it looks the same which ever way it's pointing, so the addition of a cowling on this will help I should think.  LED's also help :)

What FC you going to put in it?

Balders, I have had some success with the multiwii crius board so was thinking of going down that route.

I really like the design of that.  I'm trying to work out if the tail leg looks a little shorter than "normal" i.e a 2.5 rcexplorer design, or if it's just an optical illusion as the fuse is quite wide.  Any plans on how to keep that sleek profile when putting your FPV gear on it ?

I was thinking of taking a mould of the existing canopy and producing a new one with a camera blister in it and a vtx cowling. To be honest I'm gonna fly it LOS for a while and see how it handles. Ordered some 2212 motors and 30amp simonk's today. Taking a bit of a guess on the motors as I'm not sure how thrust in watts (130) relates to lifting capacity. A 2212 is basically the biggest motor that will go in the cowl.

Looks cool
I saw it on the Hobbyking website but thought it might add too much weight as well as restricting the downdraught from the rotors too much, all reducing it's flying/lifting capacity

Let us know how you get on

2012 1000kv motors should give bout 800g of thrust with a 10 x 4.7 so hopefully a little over 2:1 power to weight ratio.

It looks very cool...

I know it adds weight/reduces payload, but sometimes it's worth it just to look cool!

Hobbyking is really getting some pretty interesting stuff these days.
