hey finally got new mini built, just waiting on new sma for ezuhf rx
installed a new esc and so i calibrated my throttle, i set min command - 1055 but in motor tests the esc's arent kicking in till 1127 which is fairly high. how do i get them to start sooner?

Probably differing opinions on this!
I would suggest re do your throttle settings get them right first (low and high settings just a suggestion!
MID = 1500 (adjust on Tx SUBTRIM MENU)
LOW = 1050 (adjust on Tx END POINTS)
HIGH = 1950 (adjust on Tx END POINTS)
Then try mincommand = low setting Ie 1050
I normally always set throttle with throttle trim always at minimum (and leave it there) but do thyis before calibration...

well i sorted it last night, when calibrating in cli i set mincommand to 1985 plugged in lipo then set min command to 1000! this than spins the motors at 1072 which is better than the 1127 or whatever they were spinning at when i tried seting mincommand at 1050. my tx's minimum throttle is actually around 990 or something in the reciever tab. anyway took it in the garden and seem to fly good

I guess this was for the ESC calibration, what happens (I believe) is the ESC stores this throttle range, so if your throttle ends points is different than 1000 low and 1985 high (as in the case above) then they have not been calibrated properly

Yes that's (one of) the right calibration procedures, but use mincommand high and low numbers to correspond with your throttle end point numbers. Else you will have a mismatch.
(Basically your mimicking the throttle stick!)

right so if my tx says in the cli that the minimum throttle impot is 996 and max is 2005, when i calibrate i should set min command to 2005 plug in lipo then set to 996?

yeah, however techincally it could be deemed as both a little high and a little low so you can adjust your endpoints in the TX first to make it 1000/2000 or 1050/1950 and then re-calibrate in CLI at whatever they read at after some fine tuning of the endpoints

right min throttle command is 992 and max is 1992 so use those figures to calibrate in cli, now motors spin up at 1056 or whatever the figure is in the 50's so i set min throttle to 1040 now motors spin up at one click up on the motor test... but does this mean they are now calibrated right, also should i set max throttle command to say 1985 to give the naze 0007 to play with at max throttle climbs

ok motors are kicking in on the naze gui now low but with tx there is still a bit if play at the bottom of the stick, guess i need to get the motors to spin up at around 1000 how do i make that happen?

so guess the esc's are kicking in about 0060 later than i'm calibrating, so if when calibrating i set min command to 940 i think that might do it, but does this mean esc's are not calibrated correctly

Why are you using odd throttle end points?
Ideally throttle low setting 1000 or above, and high setting 2000 or below!
Then sync the esc's with the throttle endpoint settings, fine adjustment can be done once you have a running set up, but beware randomly choosing figures can cause various weird things to happen, as I found out...
If your ESC's are not syncing are you getting the programming beeps from the esc's?

thats just the end points of the throttle stick i could trim it out i guess. put even if i did, my min throttle on the sticks would be 1000 but motors wouldn't kick in till 1064 or what have you, i'm trying to close the gap between the min throttle on my stick and when motors actually spin up, yes i'm getting the calibration beeps

Are you worried about? the ESC's not syncing? Or the small dead band at low throttle?
Personally I like a small dead band...

just the deadband at bottom of the stick, i'm sure they are syncing as they are all spinning up at same time and when i've moved from 1050 to 992 to match the stick they have all moved to the same figures now 1052,
