MWOSD setup
« on: October 24, 2014, 03:42:57 PM »
Hi guys. I bought one of these for the mini http://multirotorbits.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=94&osCsid=h90jh42p9v8paqrqmpqqvl4rl5

I have it wired Following this diagram,,https://fpv-forum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=3883.0;attach=4065;image

When I connect the lipo And it boots up. Im left with a screen that displays 0% battery
A flashing 50% signal strength text. time stamp and more importantly In the centre of the screen It says DISABLED

Since it only has one button on the OSD itself and when pushed simply stops displaying OSD I'm kinda lost. I have it powered from number 5 servo output on the Naze since 5 and 6 are spare and not from number 1 as shown In the diagram If that matters?

To access the inbuilt OSD menu, with MultiWii DISARMED:

THROTTLE MIDDLE
YAW RIGHT
PITCH FULL
To navigate the OSD:

PITCH/ROLL sticks are used to navigate
YAW stick is used to adjust / change values Note: keep throttle stick at middle
To exit without save - move throttle stick to minimum

Right so I had a little play with this and as simple as this may be to some I'm confused..
I haven't been able to setup to display my battery voltage And this is one the most needed things for me.

At around 2:00 In that vid the guy talks about setting his voltage to match the actual voltage of his pack using a multimeter. Ok cool I dont have a multimeter But I have one of the 3 digit voltage readers from hobbyking.

Now In the vid I see in the top right hand corner of his screen when selecting the voltage page His reading Is 162 presumably 16.2v So most likely a 4s pack .. anyways he goes on to say you must match the voltage to the actual voltage of the pack ..Ok cool but why does his show as 202 under adjust volts??? Should that not read well...162?

I tested my pack at the time and It was pretty dead at 11.3v never less I changed the value to 113 and saved and exit and still no voltage reading In OSD :/

Another thing is RSSI I did what the guy suggested and My rssi flickers between 2 numbers  1% and 100% I tried cover the antenna a bit no change ..I put my TX in another room downstairs still no change? Is it working and Its the uhf system is too powerful to change reading at such short range?

you need to run power wires between the PDB and the naze

Ahh well that makes some sense. Is there a diagram as to where to where those power wires meet the naze?

Cheers ben!

Roger! And about the rssi. that sound normal? I'm using ppm also. would that matter at all.  maybe I need to run wires for rssi too?

you have to set rssi to aux4 in baseflight assuming you bave it set to channel 8

set rssi_aux_channel = 4

did you do that?

Hmm I'm not sure Ill take a guess That I didn't... I'm having trouble even connecting to base flight ATM I hit connect and it says successfully connected to port or something like this then after 10 seconds It says disconnect again... or failed to connect or something like that...

Ill sort it somehow .

Thanks again mate!

Ben mate I have soldered a 2 pin plug on the PDB and plugged it in the naze as shown in diagram and set my voltage using MWOSD voltage page  to 124.. as my lipo is at 12.4v save and exit ...still showing battery 0.0% flashing? I dont have the buzzer on there but that wont be it right?
