Someone else has collected my Parcel!
« on: October 18, 2014, 09:46:09 PM »
so in an effort to make the forum come up more in google searches will recap on my Parcel Farce woes. Plus Mrs has control of tv and i have nothing else to do!

So i placed an order on the 13/10/14 with hobbyking.com and paid extra for 24hr express delivery. After 4 days waiting for my Express parcel i started a hobby king live chat saying it hadn't been delivered yet, they checked the tracking and said it had been delivered, i hadn't thought to do this. So i checked the tracking out myself and it said:-

15/10/14 - delivery attempted

15/10/14 - addressee advice to collect from post office [west end haydock] thats my local PO down the road

17/10/14 - collected by addressee

17/10/14 - delivered

Now i never received one of those calling cards through the door advising me of anything, and i never collected the parcel either so i'm guess either, a passer by seen the "sorry we missed you" card sticking out the door and went and collected my parcel, or delivery guy posted it through wrong door and they went and collected the parcel, but i certainly did not collect the parcel myself.

so it was about midnight and couldn't speak to parcel force as their lines were closed. So went on the hobbyking live chat explained what was going on, they said i had to get documentation from post office showing who had collected the parcel. In the morning got straight on the phone to parcel force and the women basically said the status said delivered because post office had took it in [this turned out to be nonsense] so i went to local post office where i was told it would be and guess what, it wasn't there. The guy said they only had one parcel in and it wasn't mine. So back on the phone to parcel force and they said they will get on the phone to local post office and ring me back. So after an hour i rang them back as no one rang me, and they guy said, the local PO said they wouldn't of released a parcel without someone showing ID but also that they had failed to record any documentation so they had no proof parcel was delivered. I ask what i need to do next and they said i needed to contact the seller and get them to claim for the value of the parcel.

so back to the live chat, and hobbyking respond with they will need 2 months to investigate what had happened to my parcel. i told them, no need i have already found out and all you need to do is make a claim for value of the parcel as there is no proof of delivery. they respond with sorry but we need to follow procedures please be patient and contact us after 30 days. i told them i will just raise a paypal dispute as i think it is unacceptable that i have to wait 1440 hours for a 24hr express delivery. They tell me opening a despute will only slow the process down further. i responded with well it can't be any slower than 2 months.

So thats where i'm upto, i will keep you updated, in the mean time please keep you eyes open for someone selling 3 x 1.3 4s  nanotech lipos and 4 blueseries 30a esc's, not that theres anything i can do about it.

Cheers

Dave

Sorry about that xxpitt! The sender is the only person that can claim for lost parcels.

You won't get anywhere with Royal mail inquiries either if your not the sender, its kind of strictly guarded, just like US mail!

I sent a parcel from the UK to the daughter in France, it turned up two days later in Flushing sorting dept in New York, from there it just continually shuttled between Miami, Orlando, and back to Flushing! It took them 6 weeks realise where France was! I tried and tried to contact US Post but they ignored all attempts! Contacted Post office in the UK several times and they wouldn't/couldn't contact US Mail. said I would have to wait 4 weeks then make a claim for lost package (Even though I knew exactly where it was via tracking!)

Ok from my experiences, Hobbyking has to wait 4 weeks then make a claim for a lost parcel, problem is they are already trying to con you, trying to persuade you to not make a claim through paypal, so what confidence have you got that they are even slightly interested in your lost parcel, after all they have your money now?

I would class them as sharks, treating their own customer base like shit, best not deal with them in the future! Just put in a paypal claim before the period expires.

We know that's a load of bollocks, disputes through paypal has always speeded thing up in my experience and paypal have always been fair in their judgement. All HK want is for PP dispute window to pass so that then they can ignore you...

yeah i put a dispute in straight away, how can it possible make it take longer than 2 months, the parcel force guy never mentioned that they had to wait 4 weeks to make a claim, maybe because they have it being marked as collected but have no proof its been collected, as it isn't actually lost its gone, never going to show up again, either way its just crap how the customer gets hung out to dry while all this is going on. The problem should be between HK andPF, why make me suffer. If you pay for an express service and it ends up taking 2 months to be delivered i think you should be heavily compensated. Maybe like have it on the house kind of thing

Parcel Force may have their own rules about when a sender can claim for compensation but Paypal have their rules too and if you give HK a reasonable period to sort it out (say 10 days) then telephone Paypal and explain the situation then I'm sure they will issue the refund

You MUST first escalate the dispute to a claim as soon as you are able to

yeah gav well cheesed off mate, hopefully it will all end ok, even if it takes a month to sort out, better than waiting 2 months for hobbyking to investigate, thats a complete joke! took me like 2 phone calls to find out what had happened and to get parcel force to tell me there is no proof of delivery, and that the seller should make a claim. i would like to never use them again, but thing is where else are you going to get 30a esc's for a five in the UK, sometimes you just have to take the rough with the smooth

I see this all too often companies are all too quick to take ya dough but you'll have to fight through hell Or high waters to get It back. And yeah for the most part and for sure for the prices HK despite the Rigmarole still seem like a shot worth taking.. Imagine that was a 300 quid parcel though? :0 Still any loss and a hit in the pocket is a kick in the nuts!

Hope it comes through for you mate!

that's an interesting point as the parcel is only insured up to £100 unless you pay for extra insurance, so i imagine hobbyking would try even harder to talk you out of a dispute and screw you over

Where did you get £100 from? Normal "Signed for" package max refundable value was £50 when I sent that Kindle last year which was value something like £130.
