I decided to make my own thread that I can waffle on even if nobody else doesn't lol Saves me making threads for simple things.. I am in the final stages of completing the Mini quad build .. such fiddly little things.
My FPV Fleet!
Twinstar2 has been through the wars, More like a jigsaw puzzle after a couple of unlucky crashes But I managed to piece it back together....Sort of
Just positioning everything The RCx250 is TINY even compared to other Mini's but I just about squeezed everything on..
Yes that's my broken mobius case, waiting for my new one should be here tomorrow with a bit of luck.

looking good there, you will probably find the mini quad quite docile on stock lsettings so give us a shout if you want to make it more lively!

Went for my first FPV spin today, Its all a bit scary as hell but I can sense I would gain confidence.. Flying from Indoors, Launching from my back garden probably isn't Ideal but I still don't have any outdoors power to power my lcd and Vrx as of yet.
By no means a gripping flight, but for me it was pretty awesome
Mini H quad First ever FPV flight.

you did really well, you must have been buzzing afterwards.

I may get some goggles in the future.. When the financial strain lifts a bit. If I get some I want some good ones. And thanks mate I thought I did pretty crap. but was glad to guide it home
Some things that bother me though..
No audio. I'm very much an audio guy. I play a lot of First person shooters on pc and flight simulators ect.. I absolutely suck when I cant here anything. Same goes for this.
No osd for now that's just a slight niggle.
3.6mm lens I mistakenly purchased for the 600tvl.. 2.8mm will help for proximately If only a little.

mic and OSD easily sorted not expensive at all, you could also swap out the lense for a few quid

Ill grab one of those flashed osd's from the trusty Multirotorbits store
As for mic I will have to add one its no good without it. I could hard-wire the the mobius into the loop and use the mic but its easier all-round to just add a small mic.
Yeah looking for somewhere that just sells lens's alone. my 700tvl I ordered only shipped with 3.6mm. Great for belly cam on the twinstar but not ideal for the mini I don't think.

Nice one Gav, like Ben said proper crazy place for your first fpv flight
you did good though it will seem easy now when you get to a nice open spot to fly, that football pitch behind your house looks perfect.

It ain't that bad is it mate? lol This is what its all about for me. Eye in the sky. I'm not reckless far from It. I seen many stupid FPV vids of far more dangerous stuff than hovering around my house..Its pretty basic If anything. Ok Its my first FPV flight and probably Under 10 actual flights of any kind but what difference does that make? I wouldn't have done it If I didn't think I could.. Although I will enjoy a nice big open space to fly myself to do some tree dogging and what not sweet! But When I don't or cant get out . I suspect my neighbours will get used to seeing more of these things flying around... Its Stuff dreams are made of mate..Mine anyway
Oh and that football pitch that's been mentioned sadly Isn't even an option. Its belongs to the university and ignoring that There is no way on there from where I am based
Don't think I haven't thought about that do you? lol
Thanks for the comments on the flying though people. Its nice to see. I'm very critical of myself and I'm pissed I didn't land it In my garden or even land it at all Hahah
Cheers guys!

Well I can't just sit back and see you continue like this without saying anything! and I wont argue with you on this, so it will be my last say on the subject! This is possibly the best advice you have been given since you started flying!
If you have no insurance then, in the event of an accident you have no leg to stand on, you might not realise it now but at worse you are gambling with losing your house!
In fact to put it another way, insurance wouldn't even pay out if they find you were flying within and over a built up area (accidentally or deliberately)! It's directly against CAA laws and against all model insurance requirements.
Choose to ignore the risk your taking would be a foolish option!

Oh Jesus I thought I was getting along too well here in this forum, Sooner or later ill always upset someone Lol
Right so I'm a reasonable fella, I can take all your points onboard And Don't think for a second I don't appreciate any and all kinds of advice so I thank you for this mate.
You know From the moment I wake up to the moment I sleep at night I'm governed by laws. To be blunt I'm sick of it! I cant stand authority pushing me around telling me what I can and cant do..I'm a nice Guy I carry old lady's shopping bags. I give money to homeless people I care for animals and all living things on this earth! I'm not out to cause anyone any harm.
I really cant see the problem? I payed good money for this stuff . I don't always have to option to travel around mobile. My car is knackered I don't have any means of portable power. I spent many sleepless night reading and researching this sport nopt to mentioned the time struggling and building, So I let my quad go from my garden and went 1-2 streets away? People are gonna lynch me for this?...I don't wanna point fingers But I see far worse though ridiculously awesome behaviour from regular posters of vids here?? So it must be my inexperience that presents a problem for you?
I don't wanna come across as a w****r . And I met some great people here yourself included, saved me money and pointed me in many right directions. Good humoured helpful bunch of chaps. I just struggle to see the huge deal You know..I pointed out "probably not the ideal place to fly" But so what of it?
I'm struggling for the right words here to be honest, But I hope you can maybe see some sense I'm my explanation? And if not You probably be thinking something along the lines of.."this is the type of guy we don't want flying, he's gonna ruin it for all of us" and that's pretty sad and no doubt hinder any future help I may receive here
I would just like to point out..NO HUMANS ANIMALS OF INSECTS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS FILM.
Sorry to not apologise or say that I'm going to change my attitude or my flying In any way. I did mention it was the "Ideal" spot I hoped that would have been enough?
