Wow if it werent for bad luck you'd have no luck at all. I was having a bad time with it at first mate. Dodgy ground wiring meant i kept losing video at vital moments. And even when i wasnt losing video i was pushing my skills to the limits and finding i wasnt as good as i thought a was. Usually having a broken quad most weekends. You soon get to know your limits. I even earned the nickname lucky gor a period. As for your crash tonight. Certainly sounds like a failsafe. Would highly recommend getting a buzzer on there

Yeah tell me about it mate. I was really enjoying it up until that point and I'm yet to have a crash that is a result of bad piloting. And as my luck has been Crap. A bad piloting crash Is something I kinda look forward too.. I'm guessing my Rx is knackered I cant see why the uhf would flip upside down in an instant and such short range.. I was soo miserable after this.. I was thinking "just forget this godforsaken hobby sell what you have back at home and cut your losses"  I really don't want to do this. I thought about this FPV lark for years.

I dont know what happend other than the Rx must be knackered ..It took such a hard smashing before and It ripped the antenna clean off tacking a lot of the circuit tracks with it..I did my best to fix It and thought I had But I guess not...So new EZ rx and a set of antennas and Ill brush of the dirt and try again :)

Chin up mate. Maybe if youve got a buddy who could help you do a range check, try that before paying out on new rx. Mobius is a hard thing to find aswell. But hope u find it mate

Gav the MWOSD does rssi so you should be able to keep an eye on your link.

Also the vtx sounds like its had its day, when these go the power just drops right down, we have tested some with Martins immersion power meter @ 40mw & 70mw etc

AT least you landed on grass this time! Maybe you need to keep it low for a bit until you have done some more tests, you will learn something from every crash (you certainly know now these things can just fall out of the sky in the blink of an eye)

I didn't have The OSD installed At the time... Damn!  Anyway Ill get there in the end, Definitely think my Rx is broken. Ill do a range check somehow.. But I am kind of thankful that It only took the crash Of the mini to find out. I would have put the 8ch lite back into my Twinstar and lost a heap more money..

Guys can someone explain to me the customs/shipping costs involved In shipping an item from hong kong. I want to but a new plane Here is the email I got from the sales guy.

Hello Gavin,

It is available here: http://www.pw-rc.com/product_info.php/products_id/3569

The price is US$135, optional motor is US$20 and float is US$46

My base is in Hong Kong. Shipping cost to UK is US$80 by air parcel.

Thank you for your enquiry.

Philip

So $135 for the kit, $20 motor is $145 or 90 pounds.. sounds great but what will I expect to pay ontop of this? I'm doubting I could get it marked as a $20 item Its pretty big parcel But I really don't buy stuff from china or overseas. I got stung for a 45 pound charge last time I did :/

looks like a pretty standard trainer, can you not find one in the uk? i don't know the ins and out, but basically stuff marked over a set price, not 100% but think its $26 gets customs charges, and if it comes by parcel force then they will add on a release fee. stuff under the $26 or whatever it is randomly checked by hmrc. so the bigger the item the more chance they will check it, for instance i doubt they would let a iso container clear customs marked as $20 but a shoe boxed size will most likely clear it. if it doesn't clear it and it was marked as $20 i think you will be contacted asking to provide a receipt so they can check the price. usually when we get stung its because chinese company don't mark it down correctly, not because it was randomly checked by customs

Its a Chinese model ..There are plenty 1.4m similar versions but this is a somewhat sort after 1.9m model .The only other place to stock these was In Norway and they don't sell them any more. I have been waiting almost 4 months for this to come back in stock and the price when compared to similar 1.9m versions is shockingly low.

If its just 26 quid then I really don't mind then I guess. Such a nice model. Its probably best not to attempt a marked price of $20 The seller might get in trouble perhaps If even He would consider such a thing?

Cheers dave!

It works like this:

price is $135, optional motor is $20, Shipping $80 = $235 = £146

Customs charge £146 + 10% = £160

vat £160 + 20% = £192

Parcel Force will add handling charge, can range from £14 ~ £30

Presuming initial bill $235 is paid through paypal then they usually charge more than the real exchange rate when converting to GBP in your paypal account The £146 will be like £150 or so!

Paying any more than say £225 would be a rip off, although if SCS gets their hands on the shipping then expect to pay their exotic fees! Of course it might just sail through customs, but like xxpitt says, large parcels stand out like a sore thumb...

Right so. The guy who runs this store In hong kong Is being super helpful. He suggests that he sends me two invoices/receipts. One for $20 and one for the remaining $. And an invoice issued from paypal to mention a special price for loyalty customer award. Also a copy attached to the parcel itself.

So should customs or whoever request to see my receipt I simply show then the one for $20?

That sound like a plan guys?

hate to put a downer on this but i guess customs could just look at the print on the box and google search get a sale price of the item and bill accordingly, im sure thats what they did with the x5 when that came a while back as there was no documentation in the package but it did have a picture and name on the box :( and low and behold I got a £28 tax/charges bill for a £50 item, then again it could sale right through!

Fair point but surely they cant do that?   I mean lets say for instance "peter" was selling an item on from his web shop for $120 and "paul" was selling the same item from his web shop for $20. I then obviously choose paul and save $100. Could they really go on google and find the highest priced seller and bill me like that? :0
