the big question I think for me is 'does it waggle on yaw axis' when in flight, but I think we need a camera on it to judge that, its hard to tell LOS

Ive asked about the yaw, apparently you can get the Z2 to fly locked on straight, it just has to be perfect.

If you look at Rockys vids his yaws sometimes, i asked him and he said he was going to tweak it out.

If you look at Chris' vids, his doesnt yaw and flies like its on rails.

I'm gonna take it up tommorow morning again and strap my Key chain cam on it.

I'll do as many smooth low down runs as possible to see what the wag is like.

Ooh let us know what it's like... I was very interested in the replay. I saw one guy just cut a nice round hole in his zeph and it just slides in.

No flight today due to rain, hopefully get some time tomorrow.

Right took it up this morning and I'm sorry to report the wing yaw wobble is present in my zeph.

Unfortunately this being my second flight and from a small park before sunrise... there is no footage worth watching.

It's not that noticeable higher up when going faster, it's mostly noticeable as I come down for low passes.

However I'm very impressed with how stable it is otherwise. I can't wait to get my FPV gear in it because I'll be able to get some nice smooth footage then.

If I encounter this problem on the wing I'm building, I would seriously consider a gyro in the centre, with a couple 9g servos on the winglets. That would give me rudder control for tighter turns at low speed (when landing at my site, I often have to make low down, sharp turns without losing height. Not the easiest thing to accomplish on a flying wing with no yaw control), and the gyro would prevent unwanted yawing.

I will certainly experiment with it if I do get the unwanted yawing. Really is annoying...

There are a few people experimenting with rudder control on the winglets, doesnt look very good so far.

The tweaking is done with the winglets tho i think, from what ive read. You angle them slightly to give more drag. Or something like that.

Not sure rudders on winglets are gonna work that well. The plane has little inherent yaw stability as it is, by trying to introduce yaw it's surely gonna end up badly. Your gyros are gonna be working overtime trying to smooth it out.

I've seen wings with "drag" induced yaw control, so basically just flaps that raise up either side of the wing to make it turn.

'Duckerons' I think they're called, or something along those lines lol.

I will definitley experiment with it if I do get the wobble. Also, I have had both winglets fall off my previous wing in flight. I thought it was a gonner but it carried on flying absolutely fine, although it did have more adverse yaw when straight and level.

OK perhaps the rudder idea isn't the best, but the only reason people use duckerons is to make it scale. It's only for stealth-winglets aint stealthy. A vertical rudder should do the same job. It would probably be easier to have vertical duckerons on the rear of the winglets. It would save you from losing a portion of your elevons at the tip.

flitetest did a youtube video on their various attempts to retro fit rudder control to a wing.  Only success they had was drag induced yaw. Added benefit was that it you set it so you could deploy both at same time it acted like an air brake.

What about a big ass vertical stabilizer nr the centre line? Or one either side of the prop hanging out the back?
