These are very simular to the ones from dpcav but a lot cheaper! I just bought 2 for £2.25 inc shipping. They have some good reviews on RCG.

well they turned up today, took 20 days to arrive, I will probably use them on my quad when I swap out the vtx for a 5v lawmate shortly, so will report back!

Ive just ordered a few of these as the ones I normally use (when uncased) look identical but I pay quite a bit more for the ones in the plastic case I normally get.

well I hooked one up today so I can charge my archos from my 12v PB, twiddled with the screw on the blue component to change the voltage to 5.5 and all seems well just going to leave it plugged in for a few hours now too see if it gets warm.

Ben, how are you connecting it to the archos to charge? Any idea where I can get that little round charging plug from with easily identifiable + and - wires? I have a 5v/6v BEC here and I'd like to use it to power the archos when recording.... the battery on these things is crap.

3.45mm dc power plug from maplins, i think its the 1.30mm centre hole

OK well I had this sat on my desk for over an hour and it does get very hot, you would certainly want to get this in some airflow if using this on a plane/quad however its not powering any critical systems on my ground station (just charging archos) so I will leave it as is and see how long it lasts, it will be a good test for it

I can confirm that a Sony PSP charger works with the archos 605 DVR Travel adapter. I bought a USB-->PSP DC plug cable and it works a treat. Just need to hack the USB cable and  put a female Servo plug on it so I can power it from my BEC

after re-checking the specs it has a 2 amp rating (3amps with a heatsink) I need to check what my archos pulls when charging I suspect more than 2 amps, Im probably going to stick a 10amp cc BEC in place of this and use it for something else.

update on this, fitted to quad now powering 12v vtx, works great, I was pushing it too hard when I tried with the power hungry archos. good for vtx/cam though

When it was drawing 3amps powering archos it got very hot, when powering cam it doesn't even get warm.
