Looks great, seems to have the potential for sport flying as well as cruising around, probably ideal for those finding their Bixler/Skysurfer a little too tame (not knocking them, love mine) and wanting to take it up a notch or three

Just seems wrong to me having an EDF on a glider, very inefficient  ???

However it looks like it just works great watching the video!!

This looks interesting, but I agree with what Ben said - an EDF on there is dumb!

I couldn't stand the start of the video, with the camera on a dolly and the stupid commentary, as Jeremy Clarkson would do on Top Gear.

I dont see the point in it. The only reason to get one is if you want the noise.

Well I think it looks great, flies great, and I want one. Only negative I can think of is that there doesn't seem to be much room for a larger battery or FPV gear. I bet that video was made up of several flights using probably 10+ full lipos, I cant see a single LiPo lasting that long in it...... that being said, it still looks like a great fun LOS plane for those days when you've forgotten to charge your lipos or your video gear is playing up.

If you want something like that id suggest you look at hot liners. They will perform and look pretty much the same, but will be more efficient so batts will last longer. It will glide better too (i guess), so longer flight times. The only thing you wont get, is the noise.

Yes but you'll also have a prop in view at the front

I dont actually own one, so will have to ask my buddy where he gets them. Hes on holiday at the mo.

They are great fun, ive flown his a few times. They can move so fast and make a whistleing sound lol.

But yes, you do have a prop up front, i forgot about that. Alot of the time you can fly with power off tho so its not always there.  :D

after a bit of googling and youtube searching I know what you mean by hotliner now. boy those things are fast, I thought pylon racers were fast!!! One forum I came across, a guy said his "starter" hotliner was slow at 150mph..... SLOW AT 150MPH!!! that's mental.

another guy says his caught fire the first 2 times he flew it, but now he has a 200 amp speed controller and now it just gets "mildly warm".... 200 AMPS!!!! again, mental.

seeing these planes literally going vertical (that term is used far too often in my opinion, but its used correctly in this instance) is amazing, guys having their HD cameras mounted pointing rearward and watching the ground disappear in a matter of seconds is astonishing. I can definitely see a use in FPV for these. the prop would only be in view as you throttle up for the ascent, then you can glide around for (in some cases) hours, using thermals. I guess with OSD you could really keep track of your LiPo mah/voltage so you know the limits whereas LOS (without telemetry) you'd keep it pretty safe and well within.
