Help with fat mini quad
« on: April 28, 2012, 01:06:47 PM »
Hi guys, hope someone can point me in the right direction...

I built a mini quad using a Goodluckbuy X240 frame, it seems to be overweight/underpowered, is there anything I can do without changing the motors/esc's to improve it i.e. larger props or maybe the motors can take 3S
The motors or esc's don't get more than mildly warm, the 500mah 20C 2S battery only lasts for 4 minutes maximum (no aerobatics) but it does take 75% throttle to hover :(

Spec:
All Up Weight 236 grams (inc 1g nano camera, nano tx and 250mah 1S battery for fpv)
X240 Fibreglass frame
D1811-2000kv Motors from Electriflite
GWS 5 x 3 x 3 props
Himodel 6a esc
Zippy Flightmax 500mah 20C 2S battery

Thanks in advance

I guess it's like you already said, bigger props and 3s lipo.  Then see how warm the esc's get lol.

cheers
