Well should I get one or not
So many UHF systems out there, I kind of trust Fu at Foxtech and it's what he uses
I have my Futaba T8FG (doesn't use modules) and a FF9 Super so I can have a module type UHF or bolt on type, I want to retain the ability to plug my AIO goggles in to use the head tracker (that's freaking cool
)
One's I've seen that support a head tracker are the Chainlink Dare, the Rangelink and of course any of the module types as the headtracker would then just plug into the trainer port whereas the bolt on type take up the trainer port for themselves, the two named above have their own PPM input sockets for headtrackers

Yup I Agree with you there
Just hoping they bring out a good legal 459mhz option though
thats what we need in the UK and at a good price...

Trouble is Mark to make it properly legal it not only has to be 459mhz but also have a maximum power output of 100mw, that effectively makes it no longer a LRS (long range system) and people may as well have an all singing all dancing Futaba 2.4ghz FASST system which is fully legal and can give (in optimum conditions) up to 6km range
It's why I was so confused over the Open LRS with folks doing their best to make it UK legal, it effectively lost the LRS aspect rendering it (IMO) pointless
I ask about the Rmilec as I'm not a tech head and heard it can cause issues for other radio users due to frequencies/power (not sure which)
Now I don't mind bending the rules as long as nobody else suffers but I don't like bending the rules if it causes problems for others

I agree, true "long range" RC is not possible in the UK without bending a few rules.
I have the opinion that me using a powerful non-legal frequency in an area that will not affect anyone else is no where near as "bad" or "immoral" as driving at 80+ mph on the motorway at night with no-one else on the road. yet no-one kicks off about that do they?
My OpenLRS is configured for 435mhz, this keeps it off the 433mhz used by HAM repeaters but still close enough to be useful at long range.
UHF systems bring another aspect of safety into FPV, purely by expanding the range of your RC link beyond that of unaided LOS.
Go for it Cupid, join the UHF revolution
