GPS Jamming
« on: March 18, 2012, 05:10:22 PM »
Not sure how much this might effect our flying but I came across this on the March 2012 British Gliding Assoc newsletter and thought it might be of interest:

Quote
GPS Jamming Trials. GPS jamming trials over the next couple of months have been announced, as follows:

5-9 March, Spadeadam potentially affecting NW England, SW Scotland, and as far south SE as Leeming (see AIC Pink 010/2012);

26-30 March, Stanford potentially affecting much of E Anglia and parts of the Lincolnshire coast;

16-27 April, Faraid Head and Loch Ewe with the potential of affecting flights in large areas of Scotland (see AIC Pink 008/2012).

All AIS documents are available via http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php.html

The following documents contain a map showing effected areas:

26-30 March, Stanford
http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/pamslight/pdf/4e415453/EG/C/EN/AIC/EG_Circ_2012_P_009_en

16-27 April, Faraid Head and Loch Ewe
http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/pamslight/pdf/4e415453/EG/C/EN/AIC/EG_Circ_2012_P_008_en

Looks like Essex isnt effected, but some of Norfolk and Skeggy might be...

In your opinion what is the wifi signal jammer used for? Do you have a basic understanding of the knowledge about it? If you want to know more about it, then you can stop your step then you will get the information and the knowledge you want.

this seems madness , so many things use gps tech now , commercial planes , trackers of vans ect , why jam it , wonder if its all gps frequencies or just civilian ones ?
