FPV Spanky 6 Maiden flights 60FPS

Hi All,

RealFPV have come up with another amazing frame, the Spanky 6. This frame allows the use of 6" props and also a GoPro to record your flights in high definition, it now comes with tilted motor mounts as standard

I am using a full Naze32 matched with KISS ESC's and Airbot Micro Titan 2204 2300Kv motors using HQ6x3 props on 1300mAh/1400mAh Nanotech 3s.

The video's were taken over two days when we had a break in the terrible weather but still had some strong winds to contend with.

I am using stock PID's on the Naze32 which is why you can hear some oscillations from the motors. The power is amazing on this quad, 40% throttle is hover, half throttle is a fast cruising speed  and anything above 75% throttle is crazy power. The fast climb at 1:15 is at ~75% throttle.

When the weather improves I will be doing some PID tuning and getting this setup for 4s on 5x3 props.

Thank you to my spotter Doug for braving the cold weather with me on the days.

Top speed reached - ~45mph on non-tilted motors (FrSKY GPS V2 unit)

Loving this frame so much. Ben sell one of the 5", convert the other to 4s and buy the complete 6" one so you have the best of both worlds GoPro and Mobius ships.

they are pretty much both 4s already, one of them needs a 12v reg which Im waiting on from RMRC

anyway I just ordered a 6" Spanky frame, some 18a KISS escs and when they arrive from abroad I will be getting the MN2206 2000KV motors along with a naze and some 6045 props! I will be running cleanflight with oneshot too!

yeah keep this quiet lolmight go for the MN2206 2350KV motors actually as they are even more powerful! Cant find either in stock at the moment anywhere.

I have some mn2204 2300kv and when tested against sunnys the sunnys were more efficient , but the tigers more powerfull full chat

Must confess my zmr 4S is sooo nice to fly that I will be converting the SpanKy to 4S
And build another zmr frame I have here to 4S! Got enough 12a ESC's 5 & 6" props.
8 motors on the way DYS BE1806 2300KV They have worked well on the zmr!

I have the DYS on my 3s spanky, the sunnys on my 4s spanky and will be the new tigers everyone is raving about on my 4s 6" spanky, maybe slightly larger lipo too

I haven't tested the 12A esc's and DYS motors on the 6" props yet! Well not on 4S! Need to measure the current flowing first! The zmr will take 6" props

yes however the reason I went for the spanky at 5 times the price was it can take a gopro and I prefer the whole top plate to be jello free and not just a little mobius platform.

Ah right! I stopped using the gopro on smaller multis after my biggish tricopter didn't have the power to loop with it on! it would roll off before the top! Was cased though! (But I don't like flying the gopro naked!)
