micro quad build
« on: January 14, 2015, 11:22:01 AM »
Got thinking that maybe the current craze of mini quads is going to change soon to fully capable 'Micro quads'!

So here is my build thread: Don't hold your breath, no rush on this! plenty of other things to do etc...

This is the idea I have, see the printed frame prototype, already changed several parts of this, the frame itself is quite strong at 10 grams

2200mAh battery shown in pictures as a rough guide to size!

120mm across motors.
3 amp esc's

Ah so mine isn't too big then at 100mm between motors!

So far, motors, esc's, frame, naze acro weighs 68 grams

Full range 2.4 rx, 5.8 200mW vTx clover and cam will be well under 100 grams, so a 5v reg and battery to add

6A esc's    http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4318

They have a bec 0.8A so no need for a ubec!

2000 kv Brushless     http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6312

thrust is 90gram+  each! projected flying weight 90 grams + battery

Not sure what battery to go for yet, the motors are 2S capable, so maybe  2 or 3S
Will be using one cell for the video.

Suggested Propellers: 4x2.5

Just realised, might need to trim the props down a bit!

For the frame I'm up to rev6!

Increased arms slightly to take 4" props (better than trimming the props)
Generally strengthened the frame and modified it a bit more to accept gear I already have here
