Cleanflight
« on: January 03, 2015, 10:52:19 PM »
was pondering over cleanflight so went out for fly today and could not bring myself to change my 4s spanky as I ts flying realy nice even though weather was poor so decided to strip my 3s spanky and rebuild it now I have a printer and add kiss escs and 4s, my main motivation is OneShot , thought not being able to use it with baseflight ,timecop don't get on with the Oneshot Idea :(

seems some have had good results

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8ZgDsHPY8k

oneshoot

talk by cleanflight forker at hackspace

so anyway so anyway spanky one is in bits not , poor little sod and I may use sunnhas ben tys but might put t motor 2204 on in rebuild

has ben flown cleanflight any more views ?

im rebuilding 1st 3s spanky at moment wait in for few bits , will then beable compare baseflight and cleanflight but the general consensus is its better from what ive seen and read, many say they can have gains much much higher, this can only be a good thing

ive still only had one kiss that  was doa never had one die in flight or crash , bens lost a few I was kindoff thinking its something to do with the rmrc voltage reg as that was only diff in our setups , but its very unlikely , will see as im uising one of those duel voltage regs on rebuild

going to make some nice 3d printed parts for spanky

but they dont power the esc's so why would that make it happen, i was speaking to boris.b and he reckoned a kiss esc running on a badly tuned fc can heat up really fast. he said he tried his yaw p set to 12 and motors were getting really hot changed it to 8 and everything is ok, he also said that they can have really fast ossilations that you might not even pick up there so fast, so you need to make sure its tuned well, he also said it was a massive improvement from simonk

I agree they don't power the escs but I have seen strange earth issues with the naze sending strange peaks in the Pwm signal to escs with only using signal wires , I did read that some switching psu,s can make naze behave badly and this in turn speculated that this could send crazy signals to motors , I've never used the rmrc things yet and am by no means saying they do , it could be related to a earth issue on the naze whenever I have experienced it I've always stopped it by adding earth to other side of board,  but at times just had blips from throttle even when board not armed

thought id give it a kiss :) or 4

also after testing today , found sunnys 2204seem to me bore efficient than tigers 2204 to my shock horror not much in it but at full power tigers pulled more amps

and tigers more thrust but not enuf to warrant the extra amp per motor on hq5x4 props

sunnys for the win
