Random Questions
« on: December 28, 2014, 05:50:41 AM »
Here are some random questions I've been wondering about:
When multiple people are flying, you have to use different Tx and vTx frequencies right?
Do you have to switch all together to a different type of remote if you are flying with someone else, or what?
How would you reccomend loading up two batteries in parallel?
Is anyone willing to do a post with their reccomendations for beginner flying settings such as stick scaling, flightboard settings etc?
How did you practice flying+tight manuevers? Any specific things that helped?
What would you reccomend for flight controller and firmware? I'm using kk2.1.5 and the stock firmware(about to flash).
What would you reccomend for a low cost easy to use decent quality GPS system?
Is puting GPS on a miniquad worth it?
On the fatshark vTx, you power it with the charging/voltage monitoring plug from a 2-4s battery. How do you monitor voltage at the same time? What kind of audio if any would you reccomend adding to a fatshark 600tvl camera?
How do patch vTx antennas work?
What is the meaning of life?
Haha sorry for the long list, wanted to post them before I forgot them all!

I'll answer some!

On 27, 35, 40, 70 MHz then yes, need to use different frequencies!
On UHF 433, 459, or 2.4 MHz, Basically any system where you need to bind the tx to Rx, then its a different system, just go fly together, On some 433 systems If possible (Like on RangeLink) you might wish to alter the Tx signature, rather than fly on the default one!

Nicads just parallel them (only while in use though) Probably the same for nimH's.
Life (A123) Good to use a rectifier diode in series in say the positive lead of each battery, that would electrically separate them and also drop the nominal voltage of a 2 cell pack down to about 6v, which should be fine for all Rx's and standard servos.
For power applications, as in lots of amps, like for electric flight, For Lipo's I would just parallel them using the same size, make, and age batteries, Charged to the same amount but, disconnect them when not in use.

I don't think so! Weight is the overwhelming issue with mini's, many will probably disagree with me!

None!

yeah when flying together on a modern tx 2.4 or uhf they bend so no need to worry about interference the only real problem is the video as thats not bound the the vrx so you just need to fly as spaced out on the band as possible, ie on 1.2 you might want one person on 1160mhz and someone on 1280mhz which is selected by changing channels on vrx and vtx.
