Weight Questions

So I am almost done building a hyperlite 275 and am wondering if I could move up in battery size from 1400mAh? The frame is insanely light-weight, being made of aluminum and carbon fiber. On top of the frame, if I only mount the video Tx and camera, and no GoPro for recording, could I fly with a larger battery, maybe a 2200mAh for more time? Or would the quad still struggle with it?
I am using Sunsky 2204 2300kv motors and 12A ESCs.

I use a lot of different batteries from 1000mah to 1600mah but I find that my mini handles a 1600mah ok I get 7mins flight time and 30 secs to land which is kinda nice. I did see some rather lightweight 1800mah lipos somewhere when researching lipo weights. 2200mah does seem like a lot of weight to ask from such a small quad but it will all depend on your final build weight I guess.

I might add I only get those nice flight times floating around I would expect it to be more in the 6min region when hammering it..

I use to fly 2200mah on my mini's all the time, with the dys 1806 motors and carbon props it still had enough power, you only really notice it when you try and recover from a dodgy flip or roll it takes a bit longer to stop falling lol. It wont struggle it will fly fine and you will get more flight time, it just wont have as much pop as with a 1300 or 1400 mah. If you can fit 6 inch props on it you will notice the extra weight even less.

These seem like some the lowest weight 2200s around if your on 3s?

There's a lower weight 25c version but it probably best to stay above 30c from what I learn.

That's the ones I had but the 25c ones think they were 166 grams, but Like Gav said for the extra 15 grams I would go with the higher discharge ones he linked. Don't think you can get a lighter 2200mah.

all depends on final weight. 500g is the goal most people set for a mini, but its not easy to achieve. under 600g is the next marker. but guess you could probably go upto 700g max just to get a larger lipo on, though it might feel a but sluggish, i'm on around 580 on 3s and around 615g on 4s and its got plenty of power. but wouldn't want to go any heavier. also remember the heavier it ways the more amps your going to draw in a hover so there will come a point when you start losing flight time adding on larger lipos

Thanks for the info, my quad cannot fit 6 in props but I may try out that 2200 mAh battery for practicing...I'm new to this and not very good at flying fpv yet, so a having my quad fly long and be a bit more sluggish works for me!
