yes sounds like aggressive pids! Any roll or pitch input causes a rapid rpm increase (to create the turn etc) if the increase is too much then it will climb, probably then fall as soon as you straighten up again! Try reducing, starting with the p term, stock pids are a bit high, meant for lolling around casually in no wind conditions! If your racing I presume you can handle the controls ok, probably flying in acro would suit you better but the pids must be fairly well tuned to do this comfortably.
autotune was a complete waste of time to me, crashed it 3 times whilst trying to tune it and PIDS were way way too high from autotune!
