FPV antenna power short?
« on: December 25, 2014, 06:48:08 PM »
So I just got a set of PredatorsV2 FatShark goggles and the transmitter and camera that came with it! Super excited to use it, however when I was trying it out with the charging/monitoring wires from a battery charging it. I had the goggles on and the clover leaf antenna on the Tx I was holding touched an exposed bit of the battery's power lead. This caused a spark which startled me into movement and broke the connection. The video seems fine, but do I need to worry about that?

with a bit of luck you might have got away with it!

Cloverleafs are a dead short between power out and ground (at DC) so the only thing to worry about is any melted solder joints, burnt pcb track, or connectors.
