Just some various MQC noob questions

Hi, so first I'm just wondering if I should get a lost model alarm such as thisL http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__60454__Turnigy_3_In_1_Battery_Monitor_Signal_Loss_and_Lost_Airplane_Alarm.html
on my current battery alarm what voltage should I have it go off at? I'm using a 3S 1300 mAh
My quad is a plastic frame(3D printed) with just motors, escs, kk2.1.5 flight board, Rx, GoPro, vTx, and soon going to have a Fatshark fpv camera. I have a 1300mAh battery on it, can I go higher, and if I do how will it affect flight agility? How much high do you think I could go and still fly well? Thanks

You didn't say what frame size and what motors! Guessing at the mini quads (250mm ish across motors) rcx 2204 etc, Then for a quad 1.4 is more or less the limit weight wise! A small hex will carry a 2200mAh battery but a quad will struggle.
1300mAh is fine, although this is the preferred one:
http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__20391__Turnigy_nano_tech_1400mah_3S_40_80C_Lipo_Pack_TRA2823_Traxxas_1_16_models_.html
I don't like going below 3.8 volts per cell but you might want to go a bit lower on the minis to get a decent flight time, say 3.6 volts per cell, the minis will fly until the battery is buggered so be careful!
Oh yes, you need an alarm! That alarm is reasonably loud, better than the KK2 buzzer. Should be fine!

Thanks for that link! I had spent $30 each on two 1300 mAh batteries from Venom! Glad you showed me those before I bought more!
And yes I am using 2204 2300kV motors but I'm not sure the exact size of my quad (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:511668) but 250 sounds about right. I have a loud voltage alarm but not a lost model alarm and thats what Im not sure about getting. Do you think I should get that one, or just wait a bit to save up an invest get an OSD that had GPS?

There is differing views on OSD's! personally I wouldn't use them on mini quads, its all about keeping the weight down! Yea just one decent alarm/buzzer should be fine! I'd only have one alarm but it is really helpful if you can either switch it on via a channel, or goes off after a while of no stick activity.

As far as I know there's not many "practical" options when It comes to OSD'S for a mini quad that said I run a lovely little Minim OSD, rather tiny and have a Crap load of stuff it can display. you can add A gps too and it works well with the naze32. But it can quickly turn you super clean mini build into a bowl of noodles after wiring it all up if you can hide it somewhere. Even so at 20 pounds I paid for it I wouldn't be without it..
