Hey could someone please explain the differences in prop types (5x3, 5x4, 6x4.5 etc) and why to use one vs the other? Thanks a bunch!

The 1st number is the lengh the second number is the pitch. So a 5x3 is a 5 inch prop with a 3 inch pitch, meaning if you turn the prop one rev and tracked the plane of the prop it would move forward 3 inches. Or to explain it better imagine it was a screw not a prop one turn would screw it 3 inches into a piece of wood.
The pros and cons to this is a lower pitch will take less power to turn put will not produce as much lift. A more aggressive pitch will offer greater performance but will draw more power and be less efficient which might mean you need more cells to get the most from them

generally speaking with planes
more length = more thrust
more pitch = more speed
so a funjet with a 6x4 prop would be easier to launch (more thrust) and have a lower top end speed the the same funjet with a 5x5 prop
but again the motor would need to be matched to the prop/s being used for this to work out
however it doesnt always work out that way with multirotors, more length and more pitch both equal more thrust in most cases, flight charactistics change with different props and also efficiency, larger props should be more efficient
