Antenna Problems
«
on:
December 21, 2014, 10:56:11 PM »
My 200mW 5.8gHz antenna screw mount keeps falling out of its spot on its board, and I have to solder it back into place, anyone have any reccomendations as to why this keeps happening or how to prevent it?
Also same thing happened to my Rx, one of its antennas came off, I think it was because of too much pressure from the barely bendable antenna guards I have around them. I soldered it back on and it works fine, but I have noticed some models only have one antenna, does the second one add range or is it necessary for use of all 6 CH? Thanks for any help

Don't know what vTx you are talking about!
Most 200mW vTx sma connectors are mounted in a can on the board, but if it's just soldered to the board then fitted the bog standard Router type antennas is a sure way to break them off the board!, and they don't repair very well...
Don't know what Rx your referring to!, If it has two completely separate antennas, its probably using two separate Rx's, You won't really get more range as such with one or two antenna's but you get better reception at range. If the two are part of the same antenna, like a V antenna then both parts are neccessary.
Any rigid antennas on the quad/plane need very good protection or very flexible feed wires/antennas
