Hi chaps, im after ideas for rtf quadcopter to take video using a gymbal I was looking at attaching a gimbal to the front of my disco before all the tbs haters step forward ive changed my mind on that idea. Anyone know of the best all round package quad controller gimbal etc rtf it is to be used just for this type of footage its a side of the hobby im doing more more of. was also looking at qa400 with gimbal trying to keep it below £400.00 cost though any thoughts etc?

My Phantom 1 with gimbal onboard = 5mins flight time, without = 11mins (summer using a 2900 3s)
The Phantom 2 gets around 25 mins without, im unsure with but i would expect it to be around half of that.
Something like my Pro-X is probably the way forward if flight times matter

first thing id do mark is put a 300g weight on disco and see what flight times you get , I got a tarox gimble cheap from hk that works realy well for the money with a gp3 see if its feasible
what size props do you run on disco currently ?
how many cells ?

Gotta be worth putting a gimbal on the disco to see. I have seen some nice vids from disco's with gimbals modded to fit. Martyns looked pretty good although I don't know what flight times he got.

You can buy my CX-20 if you like, I don't use it
I fitted a full APM instead of the cut down standard version, it has a GLB gimbal already fitted too as well as wiring for telemetry (which I used to test waypoint flights)
External USB port so you can plug in and change stuff
It's pretty much fully sorted, you can't really get an aircraft that can do more
£250 delivered, all I've ever used it for is setting it up and testing it, though I did break and repair one of the legs on it's first ever flight as the monkeys that built it didn't even stick the flight controller down inside
