This is the video of the bridge of torture!
Not thinking of retrying this anytime soon but any observations why it all went wrong would be helpful!
Actually this first bridge test, I'm surprised that it actually recovered from total chaos, normally things go from bad to worse!

Depends if its before or after Godzilla got stuck in it
Looks temperature related or clogged up?
Looking at it again i would tell it to go to the end of the block before putting the bridge across the 2 blocks, looks like it missed? the edge of the block and thats when it started going wrong ... maybe needs some support there?

Yes that was my conclusion too, a weird way of going about it! I don't know if that was due to the original part or the gcode generation in the program I use, but being a 3rd party test piece any deliberate tweaking would have been looked on as cheating I suppose!
Edit: Sorry cobs, didn't explain that it was a bridging test, purposely no support!
If I was actually going to print that I would have done it on its side or with support.

I have a few ideas that may improve the result of the bridge test.
I don't know if you have a fan on, but slowing it down+more extrusion would definitely benefit it.
The logic behind slowing it down is obvious, but for anyone who hasn't printed before its because if its going slower over the gap the slower it goes the longer it spends holding the first strands over the gap in their correct places, allowing them to spend more time solidifying into the right spot. A bit more extrusion may help, as I am not sure if the minor added weight would counteract or be less than the minor added strength due to the extra material per line.
Increasing or decreasing the fan could help but you would have to find out by trial and error. Too much fan could push the first strands farther down, but too little fan could allow the filament to spend more time cooling and therefore have more time to sink down. Basically if you want to find out you would have to test a few different fan speeds along the range of it until you find the one that gives the best cooling:push ratio. Also I could not tell if the bottom of the bridge was flat and rectangular or not, but if it is flat and some sort of rectangle it will bridge the gap easier as the filament would just be going straight across, not getting pulled left and right or forwards and backwards as the bottom design changes.

Made a second attempt at the bridge, think this was pretty good, although a bit coarse! layer height 0.25mm, nozzle temp 190c, bed temp 60c, print speed 50mm/s. The thing that made the big difference was dropping extruder temp.

Looks promising Martin!
Like the colour too!
Try using "no support", and "no platform adhesion type" in Cura!
You will get it off the table easier then!
