Flashing your esc with better firmware
« on: March 10, 2012, 07:40:47 PM »
Any of you guys flashed your esc's for better performance?

I've just gone through the process of flashing my RCTimer esc's and they are definitely snappier (and the motors seem quieter too?).  I need to tweak the PID's etc again now to get it setup better but I guess if they are quicker to respond then they can react better and balance better?

It's supposed to be optimised for copters - it's the simonk firmware

I was doing ok with them before but thought I'd give it a try.  I'm not an aggressive sport flyer, so not sure whether it will benefit for slow flying stability also - we'll see.
