Hi There - New Here
« on: November 01, 2014, 08:04:59 PM »
Evening all!

New here just thought I'd pop up and introduce myself.
Always enjoyed flying anything I can get my hands on mainly Flight Sims on PC.
I've been browsing the forums for a little while and watching endless videos of you all flying and talking to Gav I've finally decided to finally take the plunge.
Had a little more cash than usual come my way this month so decided to splash out on kit to get started. Following Gavs advise and knowledge.
I've ordered all the below. If you can see anything else I'm missing or that you would recommend, let me know ;) I'm only a newb.

RCX 250 G10 Frame Kit
Mobius Action Cam Lens A
Turnigy 9xr TX
EZUHF Module
Diamond SRH771 Antenna
EZUHF 4 Channel Lite RX
Full Naze32
MWOSD
x 4 Turnigy 1300mah Lipo
x 2 Flightmax 1600mah lipo
PZ0420 600TVL Cam
1.2Ghz Vrx
Fox 800mw 1.2Ghz Vtx
Box of 5 x 3 Props
x 4 RCX 10A ESC's
x 4 DYS 1806 Motors
Quanum DIY Goggles Kit
Bunch of LED's
Various heatshrink tubing
1 Buzzer Alarm
Bunch of Servo Extensions

Think that's everything I ordered. Not sure what it all is if I'm perfectly honest but I'm sure I will find out  :D
If anybody knows of any decent LED's let us know. Just got some standard ones but if you know of any nice strips... :)
I was getting all muddled up as to what I had already ordered and what I had left to order I for got to order myself a Charger! What a nugget!

Looking forward to getting it all delivered. Postman Pat sure is going to be a busy bee.
If you have any tips for me, please let me know ;) apart from keep the first one cheap - which I failed on... and not to copy Gav  :P :P :P

Look forward to speaking to with you all!

As long as I'm able to filter the money away before the Missus knows I have it, I'll be fine :) Managed to blag her that all the parts were all not that expensive... ah babe just a few circuit boards and plastic, that's all ;)

Welcome Tommo

You will need some connectors, like XT-60's (sold out at HK uk)
or XT-30's only available at HK international.

Oh and just a warning, use Hobbyking international and you are highly likely to end up paying duties and handling fees...

Welcome to the club :) its a steep learning curve but Gav has done all the ground work for you so I'm sure it will be a doddle to get it all setup with his guidance.

Thanks for the advice mouse. Luckily all the above parts I've managed to source within the UK so I'm hoping to have everything sat in boxes by end of the week. :)

Haha hopefully mate. It may be a bit overkill for a quad, especially my first. In the future though I'd like to get a plane so I've brought pretty much all the best parts I could buy for the money I wanted to spend. Then I suppose I could swap parts as needed  ;D

Yeah I did suggest some xt60's mate but they were sold out at HK and all Toms lipos come with pre wired xt60's,  bens RCX kit comes with a female xt60 so he should be  good. I got a bunch of them anyway in case his charger needs one slapped on the end or whatever.
