your gonna get more torque on a bigger prop, I always fly this size plank on a 6x4 although I never really went for an efficient setup with any of mine (40" ritewing, skyfun, funjet, 1m slipstream)

Maybe 2S and a bigger folding prop ?

I don't want anything super efficient went with this cos I have seen a few vids and people saying it was pretty good for bit of speed and flight time and was a lot better than the motor hk reccomend for the Teksumo.
I thought about a 6x4 prop but thought i would need a higher kv motor for that, the people running the 2826 2200kv and 6x4 prop get about 10 min with fpv setup and 2200mah  which is pretty good.
I do like the look of that setup but will get some flights in with this then maybe try the higher kv smaller prop.
I like being able to fly pretty slow aswell as some speed I know the smaller prop setup gives you more speed but can you still fly slow ? might be a stupid question but I no nothing about props and motors on planks.

The smaller prop will fly just as slow just not as efficiently as the larger prop and yes all my setups have been on a 2350kv turnigy motor. Its not really the prop/motor that determines how slow you can go but more the airfoil/auw although the larger prop may have a minor affect as you get more thrust when cruising slowly.

Cool that makes sense if it can glide slowly power off then it can fly slowly regardless of motor and prop, its the airfoil and auw that dictates the stall speed.

I have taken a chunk out of one of my winglet things already and was thinking bout cutting some out of correx to replace them when they are mashed, I have seen the ones that you get with the monkey blunt kit that are like bunny ears what's the difference between these and the standard shape ones ? I'm not even sure what they do is it to give the Wing stability ?

Yeah you can make winglets out of any suitable materials in a variety of shapes, supposed to helo it track better and reduce yaw wag.

The mini arduflyer, gps,voltage/current sensor and minim osd all arrived a while ago and while I had planned to fpv the teksumo a bit before I put all this on the recent crappy weather and lack of time to fly have meant I couldnt resist throwing all this on and getting it setup.

I added some dense foam into the main compartment and mounted the arduflyer onto the foam with 3m gyro pads to dampen any vibes, The arduflyer was pretty easy to setup the apm missionplanner software recognised it straight away and I flashed the latest plane firmware onto it, it came with loads of connectors most of which I didnt need, I just have the rc in channel 2 and 3 connected together which makes channel 1 accept a ppm signal, the servos went into channel 1 and 2 and the esc signal into channel 3 of the motor output connector. The only changes I had to make were I took the elevon mixing off my Tx and turned on elevon_output on to number 3 in the apm I then had to reverse the elevator on the Tx to get the elevons moving in the right direction.

The gps and the power module had the right cables to plug straight in ( some early versions had the connectors wired up wrong ! ) and the minim osd connected to the telemetry port with the supplied cable. I used some of the spare connectors and wires for my fpv wiring as they were perfect for it.
Although the power module came with xt60 connectors fitted both ends already i took one off and soldered the esc wires, the fpv power and a spare power wire directly to the power module to make it a bit neater. The spare power wire is for a bec to be fitted later so I dont have to use the one on the esc. everything is just partially buried in the wing and secured with velcro which is more than strong enough to hold stuff on even with some decent crashes  ::)  I also added another carbon rod in the bottom in between the motor mount and compartment secured with gorilla glue for some extra strength, it goes right across where the wing ripped on the first load of crashes.  Just need to put some fibre tape over the wiring and cuts in the foam and the jobs a good un.

The extra hole next to the gps is because I cut it out then realised the gps had to be pointing the same way as the nose because it has the compass in it , I will fill this in with some spare foam when I get chance. The minim osd is flashed with the latest minim extra plane firmware and I have used a modified character set using slightly smaller than normal digital characters, it makes the screen look less cluttered and I think looks cooler than the original I will get a screen shot to put up.

Auw is now 740grams with the 2200 battery, I took it out on Sunday to get it all trimmed up but in the rush to get everything fitted forgot to calibrate the compass and the acceleraterometer things  for the arduflyer so I only flew it los in Manual mode, it flew really well but could do with some more power now it has all the extra weight, hand launches were easy and it has enough power for now but i think a 40 amp esc and bigger motors will be coming soon  ;D. For now I will put an 8 x 4 prop on for a bit more thrust.

Everything is now calibrated and I have setup a mix on my Tx so I can select all 6 flight modes  8)  all ready for a proper fpv maiden this weekend,
If I turn up and fly it los again i might get banned lol  :P

Hmmm, I wonder what a Tek Sumo would be like with a 2700kv inrunner and 4.75x4.75 prop

It would be harder to launch I think with a prop that small.

I've been out tonight flying my Tricopter, quadcopter and WOT4 in the dark with 28mph gusts and rain :)
The WOT4 was interesting down at the beach with a 30mph + tail wind :), I even managed to do some night time "flying backwards" stunts :)
