LOS: Zephyr II maiden
« on: March 07, 2012, 11:59:20 AM »
Finally got to maiden my Zeph. It didnt go as smoothly as hoped but no damage so all is good. My first Zeph build and launch, so throws and elevons needed tweaking. Overall im happy and cant wait to FPV it hopefully this weekend.

Nice.
Try to throw yourself ,without motor  ;D That's what I do ,from above your head throw flat and power up..
I see beauty build there.
Now fit FPV gear on it and fly away  ;)

Congrats on a successful maiden!

I've had maybe 15-20 flights on mine so far and I've just recently got very comfortable with throwing it myself.

Used to be massive stress trying to throw it properly and it would always come close to the ground...even hit the ground a few times... until I tried giving it loads of down trim. Now it's 6 clicks of trim and full power and even a weak throw with no wind and it just powers up and out, doesn't ever go below head height once it's left my hand!

Thanks Balders, yer normally i get some height to give me some time to trim it, but coz my Zeph is all black its abit of a pain to orientate, and i didnt want to lose it. Wont be a prob once FPVing of course, but i might have to add a white stripe for my spotter.

Ill know more about the yaw and if i can get rid of it once i mount the cams. Chris seems to not get any, so im sure when built right and set up its very minimal. Im abit of a cowboy builder tho.  :P
