DJI F450, NAZA-M V1 flyaway and crash.
« on: September 26, 2014, 07:09:59 PM »
For some reason my quad decided to take an own flight... at 2:20 in the video I start to turn right but then the quad turns left by itself and flies backwards until it crashed. It took about one hour to find it

It wasnt in IOC mode was it? as that could reverse everything if you were facing towards yourself

Was in GPS mode, didn't think about switching to manual.

You probably lost satellites and then you got flyaway, did you record your home position, check rc link was OK and actually you can't use IOC in any other mode ,only GPS.
I don't think it was flyaway ,probably your GPS screw up during flight ,or your RC lost link and failsafe turn ON ,but then if you did not safe home pos. quad could fly anywhere.

I did record home position before lift off... had another crash like this a couple of weeks later, after that I stripped the quad and rebuilt it again checking all connections and so on. Moved the GPS to another position and after that I haven't had any problems :-)

If it had been APM rather than DJI you could have looked at the logs to see exactly what went wrong, I'm surprised that DJI doesn't provide for its customers better, after all DJI is about the most expensive amateur multi available.

I've just started building a Tarot T810 and I'll use Pixhawk as FC on.
