Which one should i buy
« on: September 15, 2014, 12:41:04 PM »
Help not been in touch since March. Inow have the funds to purchase a qudcopter. Not sure which route to go down after watching E Bay for two with £320 burning a hole in my pocket.
I think my options are Dji Pahntom FC40 with camera and uses your I phone as a monitor to wth up to 100 mteres. Or shouls I buy a Dji 450 frame that flys and add the extras later.

what do you want to use it for?
fpv then the minis are all the rage, cheap to build, will take tumbles without expensive damage.
Movie/photography then entry level Hobbyking Quanum Nova, they also sell a gimbal to fit now!

Personally I would steer clear of DJI. that £320 would be better off in my bank lol

i have an fc40 and i can guarantee you will get board with that wifi camera in a afternoon mines got a 2/3 second lag from cam to tablet no good for fpv and on top of that the reflexion on your screen of your phone or tablet makes it hard to see what you doing in short if a phantoms what your thinking about buying i would suggest getting the 1.1.1 it has 2.4ghz for control where as the fc40 uses 5.8ghz i also have a clone f450 with naza lite but without gps flys much the same as a phantom and is cheaper to repair but you do have to build it its not plug and play like the phantom i do agree with big mouse something like the Quanum Nova may be the way foreword for you but there are plenty others out there to choose from which leaves some cash in your pocket for repairs or upgrades

I am more interested in DIY drones, so I'd like to pick F450 as bigmouse said cheap to build and without expensive damage.

Cant speak for any others but if its your first and you like the Phantom then i would say yes - cheap enough, can add bits at leisure and they can take a bit of punishment, fly it in GPS until confident then try ATTI then Manual.

If flight times matter i get around 7mins on a 2200s and 11mins on the 2900 in warm weather.

The Phantom 2 flies for around 25mins.

There are probably a few clones of it around you could also consider.
