Naze32 tuning advice

Took my 250 quad out this evening before dark and burnt through 4 packs. It was a bit blowy so not ideal conditions, I'm still running stock pids across the board and am not experienced with tuning the naze at all. In acro mode I get the feeling it's a bit sluggish this may also partly be due to the rates and expo in baseflight? The yaw is slower than I would like too. Altitude hold works reasonably well and the magnetometer seems to hold a heading too. In angle mode I feel. Underwhelmed too. Nothing feels dialled in at all. Does anyone have advice on the best way to tune it in?

Up rc rate to 1.40
Up yaw rate to 0.6
Reduce rc expo to 0.30

I'll try that tonight Ben, can I adjust rates and expo from my osd or is that only in baseflight? I was finding in pitch and roll I was having to give big stick inputs to get what I wanted and it was slow to react but then it usually overshot and I had to bang the stick the other way to recover. No oscillations to speak of though.

You should be able to change it from mwosd or from one of the android Bluetooth apps

I'm running mwosd so I'll use that, I do own a Bluetooth module. Never used it or configured it. Had it for ages don't even know if it works. Pretty sure I can't have Bluetooth and osd together anyways, I read about soft serial somewhere but not sure if this is a use for it

That's right you can only use one or the other, mwosd is great and I dont run Bluetooth anymore either

I'm running a 250 quad and hex on KK2, very good all round.
Tried Spanky on MultiWii, just rubbish (could be as its the first experience I've had with MW)
bit of a handfull to fly, like as if its too reponsive, and lacking stability, self level actually worse stability than acro, and adjusting makes little difference!
I tried fitting the battery underneath (to see if the high CofG was to blame!) surprisingly the stability only improved very slightly, but not by much at all!
Spanky now on naze32 acro, def config flying fine, since then have trimmed pids down slightly, flies acro with a sensible margin of self leveling, fully controllable now, much easier to control in acro mode, self levelling mode, levelling not aggressive, handy for getting out of trouble!
Noticed smooth and responsive general flying but rapid oscillation (like high P term) if Spanky encounters wind gusts.
RCX 10a ESC's
RCX 2400kv motors
5x3 cheapo props
flying weight 132 grams
Been playing with Blue tooth, again a newcomer to BT, works ok but BT connection is messy, naze needs rebooting each time you want to connect, but is only intended to be there temporary.
Dunno if that's any help, guess I'm saying that if a 250 size quad flies crap on naze32 on def pids then somethings wrong, maybe vibs or TX setup!

I've got very little in the way of vibration. I've got a mobius rigid mounted to my frame with no dampening and while there is some vibes it's very minor. It was gusty yesterday and not the best conditions. I think this highlighted config issues more than anything as the naze was working harder in the wind. I flew it previously in zero wind and while it didn't feel locked in it wasn't a handful either. I'm going to have a play this evening and see where I get with it.
