Good HD MDR for Ground fpv??
«

Hello, i am getting started in FPV. right now i just want to get the camera setup and test that then i will get the vehicle, it will probably be a smaler size, something like this, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__44607__DG012_Tank_SV_Standard_Version_Multi_Chassis_Kit_with_Two_Rubber_Tracks.html
i want a camera that i can change lens, i have seen this one "Sony 800 TVL CCD FPV Effio-V 960H Ultra WDR Boar" i have seen that menny like the sony bord. what do you all think ? i am thinking about using a 1,2ghz video transmitter, is there a good one that is well tested with good range that you can point me to ?
one of the big things that i hae a problem finding is a smal onboard recorder for the FPV feed, i want one that can record the best video possible from that camera, but i cant find one, do i have to get a camera that have a buit in recorder like the Fatshark hd pilot or a Mobius ? (can i change lens on the mobius? )
i hope that you all can help me
have a nice day you all.

Thats a good camera but only some vcr's are capable of recording the output
There are plenty good ones around! for instance the CMQ1993X super had 600 tvl with a choice of lens.
The Pixim Seawolf is a good camera! and many more types available. Most come with a choice of lens.
Suggest wide tio ultra wide angle for a ground vehicle, especially a rock crawler type.
Probably the easiest (and best) way to record directly on board would be to use a gopro or mobious, but would tend not use these for fpv control, but your choice! The gopro lens can be changed but is not a simple task and from the results I've seen of 3rd party replacements, I wouldn't bother! The mobious comes in (I think) two lense options, yes the lenses on the mobious can be replaced/swapped and the results are far better than messing with a gopro but is a delicate operation, See pic.
As for video frequency, it depends on what country you are in, if in the UK then check out the legal frequencies of 2.4. Seem to recall that you can use much higher video power for ground based vehicles so you could have a decent range and be uk legal! 1.2g will probably be better at ground level though, just depends on how far you want to travel from the Tx
35 megs control would probably be a worth trying (apart from the long Rx antenna needed) good penetration and cheap as chips now!

Used one of these cams once but often overlooked
http://www.dronesvision.net/en/mini-cameras/1277-boscam-hd19-explorerhd-full-hd-1080p-fpv-camera-aerial-recorder.html
It records footage and connects to your fpv tx have a read about this also , quality wise it's about as good as a gopro one with better low light performance.
Have a read about this also

Ha I mentioned 35megs for r/c control! For vehicles it should have been 40megs of course...

tnx for the response
bigMouse: tnx for the tips, i think that i will go with a cam with built in recorder, it will be easyer that way i think.
i dont want to put that mutch money that a gopro will set me back, i am thinking more like 130$ (i am from sweden so that will be around 1000kr ;P ) so mobius, cobra HD and some cams is interesting, i just want as mutch bang for the buck i can
1,2ghz is legal in sweden so i am going for that. do you know a 40megs controler that is good and have alot of channels ? i want to have alot of extra things on this one
Martink1974:
i have now looked at the cam and i think that it can be awsome for what i want, the only things that i am thinking about is if it is posible to change the lens if i want to ? like maby wider lense, low light lense or something like that or is it fixt and nothing can be done about it, and one thing that i saw was that someone wrote that it is not IR sensitive, why is it not IR sensitive? i whold like to be able to use it in the dark without it a big flashlight on it so it whold be nice if it was IR sensitive :/

The 40meg Tx rf module I'm thinkinhg of is the plug-in unit like used in Futaba sets (and some others).
These frequencies will probably work best on land based vehicles and the modules are cheap now, although there is a drawback, the long antenna on the vehicle is a pain. The number of channels is decided at the transmitter itself, From memory I used to use 9 channels on the Jets (standard futaba FF8) Multiplex newer system (think this is stuck to 2.4g without hacking) can go up to 14 channels on the Royal Pro, the uhf LR rx's like rangeLink provide for 12 channels, of course the Tx you choose must have the capability to use all these channels.
