1.2 gear loosing my sanity

I am losing my sanity right now, I bought a pair of yellow label VTX's http://www.dronesvision.net/en/wireless-av/62-racewood-12ghz-500mw-wireless-av-transmitter-yellow-label.html

And this lawmate Rx, which is listed as compatible.  http://www.dronesvision.net/en/wireless-av/1759-modified-lawmate-900mhz-13ghz-wireless-16ch-fpv-receiver.html

I have wired my quad up today and I get no video. I have tried both my Vtx's and 3 different known working cameras.  The wiring is definitely right.  I have tried different channels to no avail.

There is some kind of signal getting through to my goggles, if I unplug the quad I get standard static in my goggles but if I power it up I get some different static almost like the Lawmate Rx is on the wrong channel.  But its not.  I am starting to think that I have a faulty bloody Rx.  Is there anyway I can test my lawmate? I dont want to have to order another one and find out I have the same issue

Just a wild guess but if they are fatsharks, have you got the switch turned to internal Rx?

Don't have interal on mine. I don't get a picture on my 7" LCD either, but it blue screens so I used goggles to see what was going on

Yes Ben I'm going to go through every channel later just in case though. I'd swear the vrx is faulty. I've got no way of testing it though

Yeah go through every channel on vrx and then again on other switch a or b. Also sure yellow only has 2 or 3 compatible channels so make sure you've got the right one. I fly yellow racewood and lawmatev together

The yellow should have 3 channels that are compatible. I'm going to have a look at it in a minute and go through all the channels

Okay I have found the issue!  the plug on my camera had the Video and +12V wire switched in the socket!! Its a brand new camera and I used the cable supplied without checking it.  Sodding Chinese quality control, I fixed the wiring and the camera works fine, but I think its shagged my Vtx, I now get an image but its black and white and very fuzzy and almost no range half a metre at most.  And the worst part is I tried both my Vtx's earlier and both have the same symptoms.  First time I have had issued like this hopefully will be the last

hahah scrub that! i have it working.  yes i had the wiring wrong due to a bad cable but my vtx is on channel 2 which is 1100mhz but my vrx is on A-6 which is 1280 which means i have a blue label vtx!!!!

they do actually have a coloured label on the vtx itself, i have had 3 or 4 and the label has been the colour i ordeded

The label is yellow but only has 1 channel that the vrx can receive and that's a blue label channel. It shouldn't matter I'm just happy I got it fixed. Never have I ever had this much grief on a setup. What done me in was that it was two problems together not just one.

all's well that ends well, thats sloppy service from drones vision though might be worth sending an email, see if they'll send you another out for free, probably not but worth a try

I'm just glad it's sorted. Just got to set up my osd and my naze and program my taranis and I'm golden

Probably a manufacture problem TBH so maybe not drones fault maybe they will offer you store credit as a form of compensation.

The vTx gets bloody hot. Anything I need to do or is the airflow enough in flight to cool it?
