Naza "pumping" motors?
« on: June 26, 2014, 10:33:03 PM »
Hi all, just set up my quad using the Naza v2, but when its hovering it seems to be pumping the motors without any input from me? I have set it up using Heli mode on my DX8 having followed a YouTube vid. Any ideas? Using 9.5 props, Sunnysky 900kv motors and SimonK flashed escs.

Looks like I need to set the throttle range on my escs, can it be done altogether or should I do them individually off my quad?

take props off!

you can do them individually direct to your rx, not sure about doing them all at same time on naza (although you can with other flight controllers)

Think I have found out why the motors are pumping, my escs have becs, and I need to set the throttle range. Question now is, do I snip the red wire on all escs (using Naza m V2), only snip 3 of them, and do I do it before or after I set the throttle range?

snip them pull them out of the servo plug and tape it back to the servo wire, you will need them in when you program your throttle range direct from your rc receiver! On most flight controllers you leave one plugged in but I believe with naza you dont need any as it gets its own power.

If you lift the catch on the plug with a pin you can pull the wire out without snipping, so esc can easily be used again later on something else

Just to confirm for me please, the throttle range is on the first beep of the esc? Have read some posts say it is braking, another says it is throttle range!! I put the tx stick to full, powered on the esc, one beep then stick to low position, then the normal beeps for lipo cells. This is correct yes?

Thats great cheers! Had visions of it all just heading off, pumping the motors wildly lol Have retracted the pins and taped them back on all 4 escs, so fingers crossed it will all be nice and smooth now ;-)

just dont forget to reverse the polarity on the anti-matter containment chip for each esc now before you fly
