Multirotor power distribution board with 12v and 3-20v (adjustable ubec)
« on: June 25, 2014, 05:28:19 PM »
this looks good

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__55556__Quanum_Power_Distribution_Board_and_Dual_UBEC_In_One.html

The Quanum power distribution board is a 3-in-1 device that simplifies even the most complicated multirotor builds.
The PDB has two built in super clean 5A UBEC’s one set at 12V for your FPV gear and the other adjustable from 3-20V perfect for powering your flight controller or other gear.  The 2oz copper double sided PCB can handle 80A of power and the Ubec’s can take up to a 6s. There are dual output pads for the Ubecs and 8 positive and 8 negative pads for the power distribution. The overall size is the standard 52mm with 45mm holes for drop in mounting to most multirotor frames.
Simplify and tidy your multirotor builds, well increasing reliability and decreasing weight with the new Quanum 3-in-1 power distribution board.
Specs:
Amps: 80A
Voltage: 6s
Size: 52x52x1.6mm
Weight: 11g
Mounting: 45x45mm holes square (3mm holes)
Ubec 1 output: 5A 12V
Ubec 2 output: 5A 3~20V adjustable

actually would be daft on qav as don't need the pdb just the becs for fpv gear. they should make a 12v and adjustable voltage reg duo just for fpv gear, same as this but without all the motor solder pads would be awesome

Be careful, this won't fit the Spanky hole layout, as xxpitt says, it's kk2 size...

I have one of these on my rctimer spider, makes the wiring much easier, the adjustable bec puts out just under 12v max on 3 cell. I tried running my fpv gear from the adjustable bec but got video loss as the voltage dropped. If you run 4 cell its a great way of running everything off one battery.

If your running 3s you can piwer the 12v stuff straight off the lipo anyway

I know but thought if I ran it off the bec it wouldn't be affected as much by the voltage sag and would stop me needing a seperate batt for the fpv gear. Trying to avoid going to 4s as I have quite a few 3s batts but my quad is pretty heavy and flight time is suffering.

I fly one 3s lipo on my mini and it powers the cam and vtx aswell as the quad. Doesnt seem to be effected by lag and still get picture when my lipo is flat

I Run my mini all off 1 batt as well and it doesn't affect it at all even when I start to lose power for flying I still have a good picture ,but on the spider its ok for first few minutes then the voltage sag kills the video, I have a brushless gimbal, gps, osd, video switcher, Bluetooth, as well as the fpv gear so I think all this must drain the battery more also I have rctimer motors on it which I don't think are that efficient. The battery's are 30c but I think it needs more. It doesn't get flown that much nowadays as minis are loads more fun and you can fly them virtually anywhere.
