dronevision shipping
« on: May 31, 2014, 09:31:08 AM »
Hi guys,

I am wanting to place an order with dronevision.  Ideally I would have it delivered to work so I can get it under the radar from the wife ;)  But I dont know what they are like for declaring values for customs?

If they put the true value on then I am going to get letters to work telling me to pay the customs etc and it might be more hassle than its worth, main reason being that parcels come to goods in and the store man is cool with taking stuff in for me.  But letters go to reception and might even get opened before it comes to me and they wont appreciate me getting customs letters through them.

So if anyone can let me know of their experience with dronevision please, so I can decided hoe to proceed with my order.  Cheers

they let you pick the value you want them to declare. keep it under $20 and you should be ok. it's  never a guarantee though

lots of people slate hobbyking... I've had really good experiences with them for over 2 years now, and even better experience since the UK direct shipping option was introduced (no customs fees)

For a while it's just been small orders though, but this week i placed a big order, so hopefully I havent spoken too soon.

I've never slated them, it's cheap and there are trade off's for this in my mind.  In that past I have waited 2 weeks for an order to be packed.  I imagine all my other stuff will get sent tomorrow, it is the weekend afterall

I think perhaps the increase in prices reflects the quality of the products and the service they now offer.

I think they have knocked a few competitors into the dirt and have a large enough following that they can get away with it...

I heard that china postal services has been buggered around with recently, most outward bound now is routed through Shenzhen to bypass it, don't know any details but could be a reason for increased costs...
