Quite chuffed with myself I took a 4s 4000 which was fairly new but had a bad cell right from the start and turned it into a 3s 4000, pretty straightforward but you need a really hot soldering iron, my station was on 450c. I have been needing another 3s for groundstation.

Your a braver man than me ! Is it not a bit worrying splitting the cells up?

very easy as it was one on the outside I just desoldered the main negative wire, and cut through the 2 small thin metal tabs that connected it to the next pack, then soldered the main negative wire on to what was now the outside cell. plenty of youtube videos to watch

I just sliced a small part off the balance lead to make it into a 3s lead as it now had a redundant extra wire
