Hi all, here to learn and have fun :)
« on: January 14, 2014, 04:17:26 PM »
Hello everyone, thought i would join here as im looking to buy a Quadcopter for FPV flying, have flown those small Helicopters around the home and even a plane outside, have also flown fixed wing and flexwing microlight aircraft and even bought a Paramotor but thats unused as yet - have new hobbies now lol.  Fancying the FPV as i love flight sims and i guess a realtime FPV flight is about as close as it gets to the real thing :) - and a Quadcopter for its hovering/filming capabilities - my partner and i are Treasure Hunters (Metal Detecting) and i thought it would be cool to film us doing various digs from the air (Alt-Hold) and also take my partner as a passenger on the flights as she is TERRIFIED of flying haha.

Safe Flying,
Cobs

Ah cheers XXpitt, i dont mind a little spending, also like doing some modding/soldering myself too so could be fun along the way, im reading the classifieds - just asking Ady about his Phantom - seems ideal for my usage and a few mods on YouTube for it too :)

Cheers,
Rob

I will be flying it FPV too of course low and fast looks like fun - as i get better :P - so will be looking into what i need for that, would prefer goggles - those old fat shark base? type sound about right - and the needed equipment to make it happen :)

I would like to increase its range too at some point as i have a mission it will need to do with a 1.6 mile flight and hopefully some loiter time - out to sea when the tide goes out - theres a WW2 plane wreck thats visible in a ditch - sounds like a mission to me - what do you think? :)

Welcome aboard!  If you're looking for an easy start with the minimum of fuss, go for the Phantom Vision. It's not cheap but it has a big and expensive battery that will last you 29 minutes or so.
