eBay problems

Hey guys
Need a bit of advice. I sold a hubsan fpv quad on eBay. It was only a couple of weeks old and perfect condition, I just didn't like it really.
The guy I sold it to wants a full refund saying that it won't work, screen won't switch on and quad won't fly.
This is not the case ( even the photos on eBay show the screen working ) and I've stood my ground but the situation is getting out of hand now and the guy is getting a bit abusive. I am going to escalate the case in eBay and have reported the guy.
Anybody been in this position ? Will eBay make me give a refund ?
It's doing my head in as ripping people off is not what I do but I don't want to be taken for a ride either. Any advice welcome.

as the seller, unfortunately you're at an immediate disadvantage.
eBay will always side with the buyer unless you can fully prove he/she is lying.
My personal experience in similar situations leads me to give the following advice:
Tell eBay that you're requesting that the seller returns the item to you before you will issue a refund. This is fair and eBay should support you on this.
If it is indeed damaged/not working, you will need to submit a claim through the post office (or whoever you used to send it) declaring that it was working when you sent it but when it arrived it was not, therefore it must have been damaged/broken in transit.
keep ebay and the seller informed throughout that process
it is likely that eBay will force you to issue a refund, this might be done automatically through paypal (if that's how he paid)
in this case, you will be out of pocket until royal mail pay up.
--------------------------------
a similar thing happened to me, but my wife did not use recorded or even signed for post... £240 worth of autopilot and OSD FFS!!!
it arrived at the buyer's address and he must have seen it wasn't signed for etc. so immediately filed a claim against me, knowing damn well that eBay would side with him (I have no proof of postage/delivery etc) and issue an automatic refund.
I was only able to claim £19 back from royal mail.... GUTTED

Just rang eBay and they have escalated the case. The guy paid in cash and I met him to give him the quad. They told me that the case would be closed as he is not covered by eBay because of this.
I suppose all I can do is report him again if the emails continue. Bit worried if he has my personal details. It's really knocked me off eBay this case has.

Ben - I didn't demo it, wish I had though. It's not a good feeling knowing that someone isn't happy with an item they bought off you and I have racked my brain trying to think how he could have damaged it.

If he picked it up from you it was up to him to see it working, it's a technical piece of equipment so he was stupid not to ask. Just ignore him and don't respond to anything.
Had a fucker from London try this on when I sold him my car, a week later after buying my car he called me up and was asking for a refund as the rear spring was broken on the suspension.

Just over a week he had had it. I reckon he bought it as a Christmas present for some one though as he filed a dispute on Christmas Day which put a damper on things.

sounds like it was broken by someone on xmas day, if you bought a mini quad second hand would you wrap it up and give it someone without testing it first, he probably fired it up as soon as he got home.
