Well, the price of the PS4 has shot up in recent weeks. With all the new games also being released on the previous versions for a while... I see no point in upgrading

Will most likely buy fpv gear with the money I save lol

Totally forgot to update this.

Having now seen the PS4 and XBOX one, they both blow me away. As predicted the xbox is more of a media centre and the PS4 is a beast of a games console. I don't think anyone would be disappointed by either tho. So get which ever you prefer the games on or have the most friends on imo.

I wont be getting either for a while until the price drops.

Well, with the recent price hike of the PS4 along with the price drop of the Xbox one.... I've just bought the Xbox one Titalfall edition.
for a tiny bit less, I could have got the PS4 with a game I didn't want... getting the xbox one means I get the console, with a game I actually want, and the kinect as standard (I have a 6 yr old who will benefit from that).

I'm entitled to VAT refund for being away at the moment so it works out at a tad over £320

Nice one Chris, youll love it I bet. I was round my mates today and he was telling me about the Titanfall deal and showed me some video of it. He was playing the beta over the weekend and said its an awesome game.

it should arrive by the end of March... shame I'll not be playing on it till late April though, I dont have a TV here lol

agree martin, even when I'm in Tesco and have a look down the games aisle there are no games for ps4 or xbox one, there still stocking ps3 and xbox360

for me, there were a few deciding factors:

1. kinect - I have a 6 yr old and I tried the old kinect a few years back... she loved it but was a bit too small to be recognised properly by the system. she's older now and I know she'll love it.

2. price drop - xbox one was always more expensive than the ps4... then you have to realise that the ps4 does not come with a kinect equivalent... so that figures. now that the xbox one titanfall edition is very close in price to the ps4 (with shitty game) it just made sense

3. exclusive games - looking back at the games I've been playing mostly on the 360, it dawned on me that I would be kicking myself in the nuts by removing forza from my collection. I probably split my time 60/40 between MW3 and Forza (in MW3 favour)

4. media centre - after assessing my 360 usage, it mostly gets used to watch movies from a USB stick during the day and early evening, and only for actual gaming late at night or on weekends.

5. VAT refund - MASSIVE deciding factor... because i'm in Afghanistan, amazon give me a VAT refund, meaning the xbox one is only costing me £332. There was no way the missus would allow me to spend £400 on a games console lol

Consoles are always best got after 2 years or so , being a truly gr8 media center would help, but nothing beats a quadcore android stick and xbmc (slightly off topic)

After using both, I still have no reason to upgrade until they are a lot cheaper.

The games do look great and the image is amazing, but its not worth it just for that for me. There aren't enough titles and I don't play anywhere near as much as I used to. So I will prob wait a year or two.

Part of the appeal for me is the fact that it's new, leading edge, shiny, etc... I have the unique opportunity to get it at such a good price, so I'm taking advantage.

Sure, in 2 years I guess they'll both be on sale for under £300.... but I've gone one now for roughly the same price.

Also, i can justify this expenditure better to the missus than the same amount on FPV gear which benefits ONLY me. lol
